The day started out as a gloomy morning, rain was shooting out of the sky, people revealed their "colorful" umbrellas, all in all, it looked like a funeral was going on in the grey skies.
I was very lonely in my little apartment with friend, back then she had just lost her pet hamster to an eagle soaring from the skies last night.
Who in this wild world leaves hamsters outside the balcony?!
You should adopt a pet, y'know?
Are you nuts? Caring for a hamster isn't the same thing as caring for a cat!
"I never said "cat", but if you want, you should adopt one! " my bestie suggested. "It's worth the money if it makes you happy! "
My friend, Angie, has convinced me enough! So, we put on some proper rainy attire and marched to the nearest adoption center.
Upon arriving the first thing that caught my eye was a cat, Fluffels, with big and large eyeballs.
The poor girl was obviously traumatized, when I asked the staff about it, they said she isn't used to seeing many people around.
While next to Fluffels, was a very gentle and good looking feline, her flawless looks could have already made me adopt her.
The cashier noticed that I looked interested on that feminine feline so she said, " Ma'am, If you want to adopt that cat I suggest you do! We rarely get these types of cats in our adoption center, if you don't buy it it's like losing a treasure! "
" Look at that poor gal with the beach ball eyes, it looks so lonely! " my Angie whispered so silently I could barely hear what she even said.
Sure, I loved the gentle cat, but I was catching feelings for the cat with the beach ball eyes.
" How long has the large eyed cat been here? " I interrogated the lady.
"Let me check," she said glancing at her computer.
I stood there for 20 minutes, and for the weirdest reason! This cashier looks like she came from the dinosaur era!
Y'know why? Because she stood up and tried finding every letter on the keyboard!!
" Now where's that "K" I have been trying to find? I mean, I'm above the keyboard of my computer, seeing every computer key, but I can't seem to find that letter K! " she mumbled to herself.
Angie, shaking her head, helped the cashier find the letter K.
Imagine if Angie hadn't helped the lady, I would still be standing here today.
" This eyeballed feline had been here for 2 years, you might as well take that other elegant cat. It might already be adopted by the time you come back, " the cashier adviced.
2 years? No wonder it was so traumatized!
" I'll take the beach ball eyed cat, " I said confidently.
" Holy moly! That ugly thing?! " the cashier gasped in disbelief while nodding her head.
" On the outside, maybe. After all, the other one will get a new owner soon, " I shot back.
" You must have a heart of gold! Because other clients told us to take this cat out since it was taking too much space! " the lady told me.
Well not anymore! From that day I knew I had done the right thing!
Fluffels might look ugly, but she has a wonderful lazy personality!
How could other clients describe her as "ugly" anyways? Don't they have a heart?
