Greetings!

I haven't been in many relationships, and in the few ones I've been in, I was often the one who quietly walked away, leaving the relationship hanging. Those moments were usually triggered by things I observed and couldn't accept.

You know, our existence on this planet is such that we have the right to make our choices. We have the choice of who to marry, what to eat, and who to associate with. This is why it's so easy for humans to walk away from situations they don't find accommodating, and no one will punish them unless there are strict terms attached to such instances.

I met this girl, a young girl who has all the characteristics I like in a partner. I made an approach for friendship, and it worked just like magnets. We started the friendship on a very casual platform, with no romantic stuff attached; we were just being observant of each other to see where the friendship would lead us. Within the first few weeks of friendship, I was very committed, overlooking some of her 'little' financial demands because I didn't want to be seen as a stingy guy. Normally, I run away from any lady who's demanding money. Okay, let me put it well: I don't just run away; I leave the relationship hanging. That's what we call 'ghosting.'

As we continued, this lady turned her frequent little financial demands into a habit, and I smiled because I knew the time had come. I didn't just ghost off, as is my usual style; I called her to inform her that if all her financial demands were to test if I'm stingy or not, then I would boldly fail the test and prove my stingy lifestyle.

My words left her dumbfounded, and she tried to justify her reasons for the frequent demands, but by then, my 'ghost' had gone far already. That's a big turn-off for me.

You know what? We attend the same church, and the pastor always emphasizes sermons where giving is proof of love. I think that sermon took over her head and became her lifestyle.

It's not only her; I've had up to two encounters like this, and I don't tolerate it at all. Regular financial demand in a relationship is a big red flag for me. It tells me that the person involved is not truly the one for me because how could a lady who was living her life suddenly channel all her problems to me just because we agreed to be in a relationship? What happened to her source of survival before she met me? Did she close that chapter because of me, or is she just saving her money in her '7th' bank account and deciding to feast on me? No way! I can't allow that!

You can go ahead and call me stingy. I know most of them are calling me stingy already, but I don't care. I know when someone is genuine, and I also know when someone is just trying to feast on the little money I have in my savings.

Thanks for reading.
