I've been accused many times of both little and big troubles, but there's one that's so unique among them, that I'm going to share with you...

It happened a few years ago when I did NYSC in one of the eastern parts of Nigeria. I had the privilege of being a somewhat leader (the Christian Fellowship-Nccf) to corpers in the Local Government Area, and we usually go out to visit people, especially hospitalised victims, orphans, and prisoners.

On a Thursday morning, I led my people to the community hospital, where we met the sick, prayed for them, and shared some foodstuffs with them. One of them, an appendicitis patient who had an operation, magnetised me when he told me that he's also serving (NYSC), and he's serving in my home town(my home town in Delta state). What! We don't come across this often. He said it was the sickness that brought him home.
We exchanged numbers, and I promised to come and check him up the next day.

The next day

Around evening, I told my handy guy, Ayo, to excort me to the hospital, he agreed, and we left for the hospital.

We got there and the guy I went to see has been discharged. Miracle! And another person had occupied his bed space already.
As a Christian person (NCCF), I had to be friendly with them, so I went to meet the new patient occupying the bedspace.
He was a boy of around 17 years. His mom was there, so we asked her to tell us what happened to his, and she narrated how a random bikeman jammed him and ran away. Wo! Things do happen.

When this boy woke up from sleep, he tapped his mom, pointed at me, and said, "Mummy, this is the guy that jammed me."
Madddd ooo!

I and Ayo stylishly laughed because it was obvious that the accident had affected his memory.
As we kept talking, he insisted that I was the one who struck him with my bike and ran away.
Me? Bike? Where?

Before we knew it, the mom picked her phone and called her husband to come because they've seen the bikeman who paralysed their son.

Although the woman was polite to us, she told us to stay put until the husband arrived.
I stayed put till the man came and immediately he entered. He began to rant, that he's going to arrest me, and that was the moment I fused up.

"Do you know who I am?" This was the question I kept asking the man on a repeat.
But truthfully, apart from being a government child [NYSC], I was occupying such a big position in the Local Government with a well-recognised body that, just a call to my headquarter would get the issue tensed for them, or just calling my fellow corpers, would make the hospital unbearable for them.

My friend, Ayo, was able to explain things to them with especially on the position I was occupying...."he's not him, he can't do such a thing...bla bla bla"
The man calmed down and let us go after a lot of his senses returned.

Within that same month, I met the man in the Local Government Council when we went for CDS; he walked up to me to beg for forgiveness. I told him that I was not holding any grudges against him and that he had been forgiven since that day.

He asked me if he could use a few minutes to speak to my people. I gave him the chance, and he narrated to the audience what transpired that day and asked for forgiveness from them...as if he offended them. Lol馃槃

Thanks for reading.
