Greetings! 馃檶
Many times, we hear people preaching the sermon of "Don't think about the problems of this life, just live your life happily," and we look at them as if they don't have a single problem that would make them dwell on life's dull mode. Well, I'm one of those people. I would go on and on telling someone to live on and push all the problems of life aside, and I do appear as if I don't have any problems, but that's not true. Many times, I am down, bothered by a situation, and still come out to fake a smile, appearing that all is well.
Two weeks ago, I was totally overwhelmed with a lot of thoughts clashing in my mind, which I fought so hard to pull through, but the thoughts were so heavy. At one point, I tried to stay off social media, but the more I tried, the more people kept reaching out, and I couldn't just uninstall all my social apps to completely stay off. It didn't work. Funny enough, a friend noticed my on-and-off presence on social media and came to my DM to ask me what's up, and I couldn't utter a word. This is Kingsley, who always pulls up the cracks of laughter in the midst of her and her friends.
That same week, I came across a clip on social media from one of the famous skit makers in Nigeria. He was dancing and demonstrating the "Make We Jolly" song by Mama G. The way he was dancing and telling people to live life and forget whatever issues bothering them made me think it was because he has money, that's why he could say all that You know, most of the problems we are facing in this life are solvable with money, so it's much easier for a rich person to motivate people because he has almost of his problems solved. . But, deeply thinking about it, I realized it's not about money. We all have problems, and it all depends on how we handle them. Oh yeah, every one of us has problems; how we allow them to play on our minds is what matters most.
While watching the skit maker say all that, my mind was relieved a bit. I tried to get those thoughts off my mind. The process worked a little, and I went on to view the main video on YouTube, and it became clear.
Before then, I had never seen the video and the audio as one with sensible lyrics. I had always seen it as a groovy song, coupled with the fact that it brings a lot of childhood memories.
Watching the video and seeing all the smiles on the faces of the singer and all the dancers while partying really portrayed that life is worth smiling at, no matter what it throws at us.
For you reading this, I know you have one or two issues bothering your mind, let it go, don't think much on it because it'll only last for a while(maybe just today or two days) and you're going to be okay again. Problems don't last forever 馃憣
Thanks for reading.
