"Time like an ever rolling stream". Coined out from the lyrics of one of my favorite christian hymns titled Rock of Ages. Time is a constant, an entity that brings pain and happiness in equal measure. Every now and then, my mind goes back to the past. The moments that occurred and are now nothing but history, memories that only abound in the recesses of our mind. It makes me wonder, I often sit quietly ponderous about life and why we take it so seriously. I look around me and all I see are these humans going about their lives and trying to get some semblance of purpose to their lives. We dabble with emotions, spirituality, finances and everything between, trying to strike a balance between it all.

When I think about it, I shiver on the inside; the thought of finding something worth dying for, that's purpose after all and the truth is, we're all living to die. The moment you were born into this world, you come with the curse that resides at the end of your life(whenever it comes).
We come as kids, naive, happy and totally oblivious. The blissful age of ignorance and mistakes. We spend most of our childhood wishing we'd stop being children, getting sick of "people always trampling on yoh" and getting in the way of your stupidity (often perceived by the individual as intelligence).
The irony is at the end of childhood, when you're slowly coming to terms with this body and soul that abounds in your vessel. It is at this point you start asking God for a chance of a redo. Its the middle of life really, by the time we get here, we realise that there's really not that much time left, you begin to come to terms with what lies ahead. Its the scariest part of the journey.
The catch is at the end of it all, the realisation of the truth. I'm not here yet but I spend time with my parents, they're not as old as they once were and I listen to them. There's death all around them; their friends, family and people close to their age are dropping out of the sky, in the obituaries, the voice over guy says the person died at a "ripe old age". My parents know they're ripe, I'm not in their mind but I swear their remarks sometimes feels like they've come to terms with being plucked out of the tree of life. Its a scary thought, but its reality.
Time is an ever flowing stream, it takes everyone and everything to the end. Time's the most effective power of nature, it is a wrecking ball and the road to epiphanies. A gift and a curse. It bears all the truths and tells no one what comes at the end. What's the end, you ask? Well, " Time will tell".
