My birthday came and went quietly this year, no party, no flood of gifts, no fuss, it's not like I always make my birthday a big deal tho
In the past I'll set my expectations, how I should feel, what I should receive and who should remember. But this time, I decided to do things differently. Instead of focusing on what didn't happen, I sat down as the day ended and wrote a heartfelt note, pouring everything from my heart and including simple list of Things I'm grateful for this year that I never saw coming.
And you know what, the list was longer than I expected. I wrote about opportunities that showed up unannounced, and finding inspiration in simplicity. I wrote about small unexpected joys, my little achievements, Most of all I wrote about good health. It's so easy to overlook it untill it's not there. This year, I realised that good health isn't just a blessing, it's a foundation, Without it. nothing else stands.
Prior to this I ended up going ou with my friend for pizza and drinks, wasn't sure at first but she insisted it's my birthday and should get my boring ass out of the house to somewhere nice. It was a wonderful night out, just us two girls doing our thing and I was glad she got me out of the house.
I don't do this usually every birthday, I mean sit to reflect and write but I'm glad I did this time, I embraced.simplicity in the little things instead of having big expectations.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful 4th October 馃巶 where ild look back and be proud and grateful 馃挄.
And keep counting my blessings 鈽猴笍
