Hello, Hivers around the world. Have a great day! My weekend was pretty busy. On Saturday, I went with my mom and her friends from school to a well-known restaurant in the city called Baqueano. It was my first time there. I’d been wanting to visit for a while, and we finally got the chance.
Ever since we got the invitation, I didn’t wait for the menu to surprise me—instead, I checked out their Instagram account to go over it in detail at home. Plus, that way I could plan my budget so that when the day came, I wouldn’t have to worry about what to order and could spend that time bonding with my friends instead.
Also, since I’m watching what I eat, it was better to plan my meal in advance so I wouldn’t give in to temptations and could stick to my diet. The first thing I saw were the soups—which, by the way, I absolutely love. They only had two kinds: a picadillo llanero and a hervido. I decided on the picadillo; either one cost $5, so it fit within the budget.
For appetizers or side dishes, I chose tostones with grilled cheese to share with my mom; this cost $4, so we each had a budget of $9, not counting drinks. Since it had been a while since I’d had a refreshing drink, both my mom and I chose a michelada to kick off our get-together—it’s beer with lime and a salt rim on the glass. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it’s etched in my memory and my heart. 🤣
One interesting thing about this restaurant is that it has very nice spaces; it’s a large place, and the menu is quite extensive, ranging from cachapas and grilled meats to pasta. Here are some photos of the restaurant’s spaces.
It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. In the meantime, my mom and her friends caught up on the latest news. They ordered a variety of dishes: one ordered a Caesar salad, another a mixed grill, and the other two ordered cuts of meat with their respective sides. As for my meal, it was a 10/10—the soup was exquisite, it had plenty of protein, and the flavor was incredible—not to mention the tostones; the cheese was delicious. In my opinion, it was an excellent choice, and I was quite satisfied.
After lunch, it was time for dessert. The menu had only four options: tres leches cake, quesillo, brownie, and brownie with ice cream. Of course, since I couldn’t eat, I ordered a cappuccino—which, by the way, I thought was quite affordable at $1.50 for a large cup. As for the desserts, both the quesillo and the cake were priced at $3.50; I tried both and preferred the quesillo—10/10.
The service was incredible, and I thought the prices were reasonable. Next time, I’d like to try their cachapas. I loved spending this time with my mom’s friends—they made me laugh so much.

Hola Hivers del Mundo. ¡Feliz día! Mi fin de semana estuvo movido. El sabado, fui con mi mamá y sus amigas del colegio a un restaurante conocido de la ciudad, se llama Baqueano. Era mi primera vez allí. Hace tiempo que queria visitarlo y por fin se nos dio la oportunidad.
Desde que tuvimos la invitación, no deje que su menú me sorprendiera, sino que fui a su cuenta de Instagram para revisarlo detalladamente en casa. Además, que así podía organizar el presupuesto y que cuando llegara el día, no tener que preocuparme por lo que voy a elegir, sino usar ese tiempo para compartir más entre amigas.
Además, como estoy cuidando mi alimentación, era mejor plan planificar mi plato, para no caer en tetaciones y apegarme al regimen. Lo primero que vi, fueron las sopas, que por cierto soy amante de estas. Solo tenían dos tipos, un picadillo llanero y un hervido. Yo me decidí por el picadillo, cualquiera de las 2 costaba 5$, asi que entraba en el presupuesto.
En los platos de entrada o acompañantes, escogí tostones con queso asado para compartir con mi mamá, este costaba 4$, así que cada una tenía un presupuesto de 9$ sin contar las bebidas. Como tenía tiempo sin tomar una bebida refrescante, tanto mi mamá como yo para comenzar la reunión, escogimos una michelada, que se trata de cerveza con limón y borde de sal en el vaso, se me olvido tomarle una foto, pero quedó en mi memoria y corazón. 🤣
Un punto interesante de este restaurante, es que tiene espacios muy bonitos, es un lugar grande y además su menú es bastante amplio, desde cachapas, parillas hasta pasta. Les dejo algunas fotos de sus espacios.
Demorarón como 20 minutos en traer la comida, mientras tanto mi mamá y sus amigas se colocaban al día, ellas pidieron platos variados, una pidio ensalada cesar, otra una parrilla mixta, y las otras 2, cortes de carne con sus respectivos acompañamientos. Con respecto a mi comida, fue un 10/10 la sopa estaba exquisita, tenía suficiente proteina y de sabor estaba increible y ni hablar de los tostones el queso estaba delicioso. En mi opinión fue una excelente decisión. Y quedé bastante satisfecha.
Luego de almorzar, correspondía el respectivo postre, en su menú solo habían 4 opciones, torta tres leches, quesillo, brownie y brownie con helado. Por supuesto, como yo no podía comer, pedí un capuccino que por cierto me parecio bastante economico, en 1.50$ y era una taza grande. Con respecto a los postres tanto el quesillo como la torta tenía un precio de 3.50$, probe ambos y me encantó más el quesillo, 10/10.
La atención estuvo increíble y los precios me parecieron razonables. La proxima vez me gustaría probar sus cachapas. Me encantó compartir este rato con las amigas de mi mamá, que me hicieron reir un monton.
