It took a while. I mean, 'longer than a while'. But I'm now at home after a very intense journey.
Daymn! I believe that there is a first time for everything and I experienced something awkward for the very first time today. Something I wouldn't like to repeat itself. To be blunt about the whole thing, I would say that it all happened because of my reckless act of stubbornness.
I know that I'm not a fan of breakfast. I also know that the earliest I always opt to take my breakfast is from 9:30 a.m. Taking a meal in the morning before travelling is a No-no for me. But somehow, I turned off my mind and focused on satisfying the flesh.
That's ridiculous. Isn't it?
I was hungry and I can't blame myself for that. One thing led to another, I decided to eat while waiting for my bus to move. Trust me, I didn't go for Eba or Fufu or any of those heavy Africa dish. I just bought a doughnut with yoghurt. I felt okay after that and the journey started without any hassle.
You'd recall that my first post for this day was made when I'm still en route to my destination. Eh?
Immediately after publishing the post, shivers started running down my spine. I suddenly caught a cold from nowhere and I could feel my head spinning in no particular order. A voice in me was screaming; "this would be one hell of a journey!".
In my usual manner, I tried to stay calm and keep my cool. After a while, I felt like throwing up. And I said to myself.
The voice is correct!
This is turning into one hell of a journey!
Long story short, I threw up twice.
The first was in IJEBU ODE while the second was in ASABA. As I said, this is the very first time I'm experiencing this in all my travelling experiences. Thank Goodness, I was seated by the window side of the vehicle I boarded. Knowing fully well that I didn't inconvenience anyone with this incident kinda lessens the blow.
I dunno if I would ever be able to eat before travelling again. It's been one heck of a travel experience.
For the record, I got to take Apple when I got home and I'm okay. Lessons learnt ✌️
