So, yesterday was our general CDS activity. We've been off any of such activities for a while now due to this insecurity issues and such. So, after like two months of no CDS activities, we fixed one for today since the environment now looks safe. And we decided to make it general.
We have different CDS groups, the likes of Environmental, NDLEA, FRSC..and the likes. I'm the president for that of environmental. It was just yesterday night we agreed with our LGI to carry out this activity. It was that yesterday night as well that we were giving various topics to give a lecture on.
I felt somehow about it at first, I would have love to give the topic to a member or one of my executives to take, but our LGI insisted it should be done by the president of each CDS group. I felt somehow about mine at first because it was a topic that concerns ladies.
But then, I got over it after I remind myself of the various programs I've come up with where we go to different schools and talk to school students about their health, menstrual care, hygiene and a lot more. So, it's something I've been doing for a while, I'm sure I will deliver well on this too.
The topic giving to me was, "Feminine Hygiene and restroom etiquette." I felt somehow at first immediately I was invited forward. I was actually talking to my fellow Corp members, but we don't all belong to the same CDS group, so I felt somehow. But immediately I began, the nervousness seems to disappear and I discussed extensively on it. I'm glad the audience paid rapt attention too.
I'm really grateful for how the whole program went. We didn't just fulfill one of our primary responsibility as a Corp member, we also learned something valuable from one another. And I'm glad with the rate at which we are making great and positive impact. I would have loved to share the pictures we took while delivering our speeches, but then the person we thought was taking pictures said he didn't know it was live or something like that, iPhone users can relate with their camera settings I guess 😁. So, I had to take a picture outside later with some of my colleagues.
