If only wishes are real
My heart's fervent desires
Transformed from my thoughts
Into tangible dreams
If only wishes are real
My hope won't flutter their wings
Like tiny fairies
And disappear into nothingness
If only wishes are real
Daydreams will make my soul sing
Impossibility will be forgotten
As my longings are painted into existence
If only wishes are real
Miracle will not be a lone passerby
Like dying sparks
In a poet's heart
If only wishes are real
Passion will blaze like fire
Lighting the dreamer's path
To a tapestry of wonders
If only wishes are real
Daydreams will be the soul's abode
Unfettered by time and space
Free to roam endless skies like a skylark.
If only wishes are real
And fantasies named by colours
Daydreams adorned with gems
Life will sparkle like rainbows and diamonds.
Don't we have those moments where we wish for our daydreams and fantasies to become reality? If they did, would our world be better for it or would we inadvertently unleash catastrophe upon ourselves? This of course would depend on what our daydreams are made up of.
