Happy Monday Hivers!
In one of my previous blogs, I mentioned that my mother had bought several new flowers to add to her collection. She picked some beautiful orchids and anthuriums, and they instantly caught my attention. Of course, as someone who loves taking photos, I couldn’t resist capturing their beauty through my lens.
Come along and let me share some of the photos I managed to capture!
Honestly, even though I love photography, I still find it challenging to capture the perfect angles. Unlike professional photographers, who seem to effortlessly spot the best perspectives and compositions, I often spend time experimenting with different angles before getting a shot that I’m happy with. Still, I enjoy the process, and every photo I take helps me learn and improve a little more.
The second and third photos are actually the same subject, but I couldn’t decide which one I liked more, so I decided to include both. They have slight differences in how they were taken, and for me, both turned out nice enough to be part of the post.
When I got to the fourth photo, it was still an orchid but already a different color. I really struggled to capture a good angle for it. At first, I tried zooming in on a single petal to make the details clearer, but I wasn’t satisfied with the result. I took so many shots, mostly getting closer to the flower, but I still didn’t like how they turned out. It was only when I stepped back and took the photo from a wider angle that I finally started to appreciate the result. In the end, I chose the shot that I liked the most from that perspective.
Next, I moved on to the anthuriums. Originally, I wanted to capture them in a more dramatic way, with water dripping on the petals. However, I wasn’t able to capture the water nicely in the shot.
It was also quite difficult since I was doing everything on my own, my left hand was dripping the water while my other hand was trying to take the photo at the same time. Because of that, it was really challenging to get the timing and focus right.
In the end, I didn’t really achieve the exact result I had in mind. Most of the shots turned out a bit distant or not exactly how I envisioned them, but I still ended up liking some of the results in their own way.
Still, I’m happy to share this small photography journey with you all.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
