Hola hola 👋🏻 cómo los trata este mes de septiembre? Yo sigo esforzándome para crear mejor contenido para Hive 🙌🏻 El día de hoy los llevaré de paseo al parque más cercano a mi casa, El Calvario
I visit this park at least twice a week and since a year ago the mayor's office has allocated budget to fix it up and clean it from thugs who had in it their lair and easy escape routes.
El Calvario owes its name to the large stairs that welcome you to one of its accesses and that is inspired by the mountain where the condemned to crucifixion in the time of Jesus ended up, curious little things 😅
But I assure you that climbing these steps is not the only way to enter the complex, because its construction was inspired by the French parks where the streets are connected to it and make getting somewhere is also a moment for recreation.
Este parque lo visito al menos dos veces por semana y desde hace un año la alcaldía ha destinado presupuesto para arreglarlo y limpiarlo de maleantes que tenían en él su guarida y rutas de fácil escapé.
El Calvario debe su nombre a las grandes escaleras que dan la bienvenida a uno de sus accesos y que se inspira en el monte donde iban a parar los condenados a crucifixión en los tiempos de Jesús, cositas curiosas pues 😅
Pero les aseguro que subir estos escalones no es la única forma de entrar al complejo, pues su construcción estuvo inspirada en los parques franceses en donde las calles se conectan con él y hacen que llegar a algún lugar sea también un momento para el esparcimiento.
The Calvary has at least 5 entrances that connect with the streets of the city. I personally use the one that faces the 23 de Enero neighborhood to connect with the city center when I have to walk with Púa.
But sometimes I just go to this park to give my furry baby a little longer walk because she deserves it ❤️ 🐺.
The walk starts with a view of La Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, famous for a gloomy legend involving a romance with physical encounters between a priest and a girl engaged to another man, which ended with the discovery of the priest's body hanging from one of the chapel's masts on the day of the wedding 🙄 pretty ugly affair.
El calvario tiene por lo mínimo unos 5 accesos que se conectan con calles de la ciudad. Yo personalmente utilizo el que da hacia el barrio 23 de Enero para conectar con el centro de ciudad cuando me toca movilizarme a pie con Púa.
Pero a veces simplemente voy a este parque para darle un paseo un poco más largo a mi bebé peluda porque se lo merece ❤️ 🐺
El paseo comienza con una vista de la La Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, famosa por una leyenda tétrica que involucra un romance con encuentros físicos entre un cura y una muchacha prometida a otro hombre, lo cual terminó con el descubrimiento del cuerpo del cura colgado de uno los mástiles de la capilla el día de la boda 🙄 bastante feo el asunto.
Well we followed the serpentine path and found some beautiful views.
Bueno seguimos el camino de serpiente y encontramos unas hermosas vistas.
A little further down there is a beautiful ornamental garden and a statue of Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez, where weekly a floral offering is left for him.
This statue is new and was a pleasant surprise for those of us who walk here daily. For those who read me from other latitudes, this doctor is in the process of sanctification by the Vatican, because in life he was a doctor very devoted to the Christian faith and also as an excellent human being. He gave free consultations and medicines to the needy and was always available for emergencies.
Currently he is credited with at least 10 verifiable miracles and is a symbol of faith for all Venezuelans 🙏🏻.
Un poco más abajo hay un hermoso jardín ornamental y una estatua del Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernández, en donde semanalmente se le deja una ofrenda floral.
Esta estatua es nueva y fue una grata sorpresa para quienes paseamos a diario por aquí. Para los que me leen de otras latitudes, este doctor está en proceso de santificación por parte del Vaticano, pues en vida se desempeñó como un doctor muy devoto a la fé cristiana y además como un excelente ser humano. Daba consultas gratis y medicinas a los más necesitados y siempre estaba disponible para emergencias.
Actualmente se le adjudican al menos 10 milagros comprobables y es un símbolo de fé para todos los Venezolanos 🙏🏻
We continued walking and after about 5 minutes we found the end of the park, which leads to a small square. Here you can enjoy the arch of the park, which has the bust of president Juan Vicente Gómez "El Afrancesado" and a statue of Ezequiel Zamora to whom the phrase "Tierra y Hombres Libres" (yes, I like history 🤭)
Seguimos caminando y luego de unos 5 minutos hallamos el final del parque, el cual desemboca en una pequeña placita. Aquí se puede disfrutar del arco del parque, el cual tiene el busto de presidente Juan Vicente Gómez "El Afrancesado" y una estatua de Ezequiel Zamora a quien se le adjudica la frase "Tierra y Hombres Libres" (si, me gusta la historia 🤭)
After giving water to my baby and having her bark at a few clueless people 😅 we started our way back.
This time I didn't go straight home but stopped to show them another part of this park.
Once at the top we came to the new cafe area. This is appreciated because many times, we arrived dead thirsty or wanting to have a snack, but there was nowhere to buy it. The atmosphere is cozy and very nice.
Luego de darle a agua a mi bebé y que ella le ladre a unos cuantos despistados 😅 emprendemos el camino de regreso.
Esta vez no fui directamente a casa sino que paré para mostrarles otra parte de este parque.
Una vez arriba llegamos a la zona del nuevo cafetín. Esto se agradece porque muchas veces, llegábamos muertos de sed o con ganas de merendar algo, pero no había dónde comprar. El ambiente es acogedor y es muy bonito.
A little further up, there is a small path that leads to the children's park, where there are games, a fountain, a high square and a kiosk where people practice from yoga to karate and where once a wedding was held 🤭
Un poco más arriba, está un pequeño recorrido que da hacia el parque de niños, en donde hay juegos, una fuente, una plaza alta y un kiosko donde las personas practican desde yoga hasta kárate y en una oportunidad se realizó una boda 🤭
Before finishing this tour, you can appreciate the Calvario aqueduct, responsible for receiving water from the main system and distributing it to nearby areas. We also have a police security post, for those who still have bad memories of this park.
Antes de finalizar este recorrido, se puede apreciar el acueducto del Calvario, responsable de recibir agua del sistema principal y distribuirlo a las zonas cercanas. Además tenemos un puesto de seguridad de la policía, para quienes aún tienen malos recuerdos de este parque.
