Who says an addiction is a bad thing, especially when it is regarding to a good cup of black gold in a way that is different again. In Greece the big old winner of the week was finding back the iced coffee with whipped up milk on top of it. Call me a mis interpreter of the original concept, it's all fine to me. But iced coffee when the season is warm, that is the real winner.
I've never really understood the whole concept of that 'something' has to be eaten or drunken in 'the perfect way', otherwise it would be crap. To me the perfect example is one what time of day you eat a certain meal. For instance here in Holland the classic example of a lunch is a bread meal, and evenings are for extensive cooking.
Does that really make that much sense even when in the evenings actually you won't do that much with those calorie energitics? It feels a lot more logic to eat an bigger meal earlier in the day, and keep going smaller and smaller when the day progresses.
But next to that you also have the logistics. Taking a bigger meal to work to heat it up there also feels pointless when you have to cook it a day prior or in the morning only to eat it later on.
Cultural habits and how things should be done. It is and will always remain a mystery. So in the one country when you bring your bread to work, people will look like you have no money for a 'real meal.' In the next country when you bring a 'real meal' for lunch people will look at you like you have too much time on your hands for preparing all of this.
Coffee is the perfect example for this one as well. In some mediterranean countries it makes perfect sense that a thick layer of grinded coffee ends up on the bottom of your glass, in other countries this is a sign of that you have no idea on how you should make the perfect cup of heavenness.
I don't get this whole idea of what is right, and frankly this all feels like everyone is clinging on to the idea of how they were brough up and not always being open to how other were brought up. Maybe...just maybe, their option is also an option.
In terms of iced coffee. Come on, if the weather is hot and you want something cold. Doesn't it just make sense to be the lover of a damn cold coffee. And when you have a beach in the back ground and everything is peachy, who am I to complain.
