Well well well, what a difference a day can make. Literally two days ago it was all about snow and slippery and slush and winter is back and two days later it is like 10 degrees celsius warmer and water is pouring out of the skies filling up the rivers again.
Hello typical Dutch weather as the saying 'Maart roert zijn staart' (March stirs its tail, meaning the weather can turn out into literally anything)
Indeed these saying are there for a reason, what a tremendous amount of water.
I went out for a walk with a friend who I hadn't seen in a long while since she had a stroke a while back. So already for us to go out on a walk of a couple of hours is actually already the winning achievement. Talking about life and the changes that have been brought since, talking about not knowing how the future might look, but mostly talking about everyday stuff like the chickens and how getting up growing vegetables in the own garden might go.
I'd call it a valuable walk of life again. Just like the rivers are flowing and sometimes flowing faster because of something external is happening, and sometimes just going with the flow and just drifting on.
Is that why they call it 'the flow of life' maybe?
Somewhere along the path like an hour earlier than expected the sky opened up again and it was raining a lot earlier than we had expected so I ended up being soaked until the socks. Doggo didn't mind naturally as he is just happy to be without meds again and just be able to run around freely (but cautious I would call it)
Any path between the fiels turned into a mud bath and again this was maybe a good reminer that it might be time to look for some water resistant shoes for going out on these kinds of walks. I don't mind that the shoes are soaked, but with the upcoming rain for the next couple of days it might take a while for them to get dry (and I don't want to take them inside because they smell like muddy paths naturally)
As you can see the water is not really flowing away from the grasslands as it should and this is another reminder that we have nature is having some issues on getting it all in balance.
Ice, snow and now the rain while the crops are already starting to be planted. I saw some of them covered along the way and I guess that will surely help keeping them to survive.
But take a good look at this last shot and the first shot. Same spot but two hours later. It feels like the puddles around the river are growing. Not that the tide is rising, but the circumstances around it are also changing.
Just like in life I guess. The circumstances are changing, but we deal with it whatever the situation might be. I was proud to see this girl walking around again and in good spirit. Stuff will change, but she deals with it.
