It is absolutely amazing what can happen in a week of being away and with rain with a garden. And especially this is my first Spring in this garden, I am surprised to see what all is happening. Not to mention what kind of work this is giving or at least going to give to maintain it a bit in a nice way.
But that doesn't really matter. All of a sudden there is life in the garden, stuf is growing, colors are all around and I like it!
The first surprise I found after reaching back was this rododendron which was in its full shine all of a sudden. These kinds of bushes (or trees?) have only like one or two weeks when they are actually shining and this week is one of them. A while back I also had a magnolia tree in full affect of white flowers which now is a full blown tree all of a sudden.
It is cool that in the garden there are so many bushes which flourish at different timing in the year. That way every couple weeks there is something fresh going on. But back to the rododendron. Big and pink and flowers everywhere! One the shadowside I can still see some knobs which will go flourish later in the week, but I can also see parts which had their moment of fame already.
I am not really a garden expert, so I am actually quite curious to see what comes after this phase. And if it is only a green bush...also fine. I love green.!
The next bush that had a bullcandle of growth is the wild blackberry. Now I had a lot of these and actually I have the feeling sometimes that it is overgrowing the rest. But on the other hand...if I can pluck these babies and make jam out of it, that would be even more cool.
I wasn't that much aware of that these blackberry bushies tend to proliferate that much. I guess if I look at the bush the branches have grown about 50 centimeters high in like 2 or 3 weeks all of a sudden. And now overnight there are all these little flowers in there. If all these flowers turn out into blackberries, I guess it will be a wildlife fest of animals plucking them as well. Let's see what happens with this one.
Are you familiar with the plane-tree? (Plataan we call them in Holland). These guys have big arms at the end of summer and grow super thick branches. But after chopping the branches before winter time there was hardly any movement to see in there, and I thought I might had killed it.

Hello little spouts. Are you all goint to turn into nice little branches? Then we will be fine in the end. What is so nice about a plane tree is that if you direct the branches to the side which growing you can make this like the perfect summer umbrella for the sun.
I have had a plane tree before and I remember taking a lot of naps underneith that tree, so I have high hopes for this one as well, but it will take a month or two I guess still, which is oke.
Because that is the cool thing, everything grows and flourishes in phases, so there is always something to see or do. I never thought I would be so happy from having so much green around me, but honestly...that is just the best thing ever.
