There are so many qualities in a person that can potentially define you, and when most people think of them it is often linked to skills, soft skills and how someone presents themselves. I always find this interesting that you make a projection on who someone is based on their skills, and not on who they are from heart. Skills can be learned and adjusted, who someone is...well you can't realyl change that.
Maybe you are the yellow leaf between all other green ones
I've been reading a lot on soft skills and how presenting yourself over the last couple of weeks because of the study I have been following and these are just things that make you think alot on how people see you.
Isn't that also the deal with psychology and coaching training? That you learn more about yourself so after that you are able to transfer the information after that because now you understand your own pitfalls.
The topic in the 'Ladies of Hive qotw part #105 is about this. 'Do you have a personal guiding principle (or a mantra) by which you live? If you do, what is it and how is it impacting your life so far?'
One thing that I have started to realize (I already kind of knew this) is that I am terrible on hiding elements of myself for instance in a job. Sure, I'm able to hold a role in a group...But when that role requires me to do too many consessions on my personality, well maybe then it is not really for me.
You can run but you can't hide yourself right?
I've heard more than often that people find me easy to talk to, and that is the skill that I want to exploit for myself as well. Maybe even make it my mantra. By being yourself, people appreciate you more.
I always find that I have trouble connecting to people who are hesitant on showing something of themselves in a conversation. But this is the way to get closer right? To give some to make the connection from it.
Is this why I don't mind wearing sweatpants in the woods and sunglasses with it? Because that is a piece of me and I am okay with that? Maybe you should be as well?
Is this why I curse at work when I am trying to make a statement? To make sure that I deliver the message as intended, leaving no room for alternative interpretation? Is this why I shoot pictures of colored wet leaves because that is one of the things I appreciate about autumn and the rest about it stinks? (apart from mushrooms..those are cool)
The mantra is to be yourself and spread out that message. And that is what I will do!
