Let's start with how fun and awesome Croatia is to start with. This beautiful country is at first still very cheap to roam around in, but also has so much beauty there and also good food. I was there already two times earlier and this never disappointed. Literally I was talking about Croatia yesterday as it would also be a place where I would want to set sail, but hey...visiting for another reason is also fine :D

As I am writing this I am literally getting more exited. Not that I am into conferences that much, but I really am into some community stuff and ofcourse drinking some beers on the side with that with people who share the same interest, or should I say: drinking a 'Pivo' as I remember that is what a beer is called in Croatian.
First thing to always do is to see if there are any plane tickets towards there which are reasonable without selling a kidney for it. I have found that a flying got a lot more expensive over the last couple of years and that a 'weekender' towardds somewhere can get out of hand really fast.
No flying from my home town unfortunately, but Amsterdam has tons of options on the daily towards there!
Also no covid resitrictions of via crap, so this could really be an easy flight. Now I have no idea what hotels would cost there, but on the other hand, I can not be more expensive than in Amsterdam two years back. I liked the place there, but damn it was quite expensive for not staying that many hours over there.
With just taking a glimpse at Booking.com I already see enough places to stay over there which seems reasonable, heck there might even be some sea view coming from the room!
Even apart from the Hive conference
Considering even if there were some moments to skip from the conference (you didn't hear this from me, I would never do such a thing), there is plenty to do there in the city as it seems.
Just look at these views and then sharing them with some likeminded people. This sounds like something really worth looking into.
