Frosty is back in the lands of the winter here in Holland and we feel it instantly!
The shift of going from 29 degrees Celsius to -5 Celsius while walking with the dog in the night and in the morning absolutely was kind of brutal. You could feel the cold on your nostrils again an even my eyes were experiencing different kinds of sensations, especially after having the warm water salty sessions of kitesurfing in the Caribbean waters.
It felt like the transition could almost not be any bigger. But nevertheless, I was very happy that the weather was cold and dry honestly, as user 
As said, it was cold actually, but frosty had also passed by leaving his winter marks on the plants everywhere. This is the moisty weather where the moist starts to freeze on all kinds of the plants and leaves.
It actually is a really beautiful sight. It feels like the texture of all kinds of things pops up a little bit more and is better seen. While the leaves on the ground normally are not that interesting, all of a sudden there is beauty to be seen in the woods. Just the tones and shades of grey, that is the biggest difference with the Caribbean vibrant colors which seem to be everywhere.
So what happens is the moist in the air freezes on the structure, especially on ground level heights. This again defrosts a bit but because the air is so cold the next layer or moist freezes back on it. A game of freezing and defrosting again, over and over until the little ice pieces turn into small statues with structure.
Winter just gives a whole different vibe and you have to learn to appreciate it again. Is it bad and boring? Well, no. But you just need to learn how to appreciate it a bit more. I am still learning
