And there it is, the bigger entrance of the Corona (Covid-19 virus) in Europa, creating the first mass panic and lockdown of cities who are not really prepared for it.

We haven been following the Asian developments over the last couple of weeks and seeing what is happening, trying to find the real reality of the amount of casualties, the amount of infected, the reason why all of a sudden a new hospital is blown out of the ground, and how reliable all of these numbers are. From that perspective it is also good to see that there are some Steemians (be safe though!!) at the scene and write their reality. Up until a couple of days ago, this still was feeling as a situation which was far away...you know, like news which you know what is there, but what will not affect infect you. This changed all of a sudden over the weekend.
RTL news
Over the weekend the city of Codogno turned into the city of most interest to the rest of the world. 157 confirmed cases and 4 Covid-19 related casualties and a whole region in lockdown, cancelling all events, closing supermarkets, and keeping people inside. Corona has just entered Europe for real.
And all of a sudden Europe seems in a state of alert, which they always should have been ofcourse. With the amount of people travelling over the world, in combination with the timespan before developing symptoms, in combination with how contagious the Covid-19 virus is this seems a little late and almost inevitable (and maybe naive) that now all of a sudden panic is here.
Last night a train was stopped from Italie to Germany with two ladies in there who had symptoms of fever. Coincidentally it was also a holiday last week with lost of people travelling to the Alps/Italy region so if anybody was infected there....let's not make any illusions...then it has spread throughout Europe for sure already. And all of the upcoming panic measures that we will be taking are way too late.
