The more and more you travel around in the world, the more you get the feeling like you have been getting ripped off for a good one over the years. Where at first getting some kind of place to sleep has still reasonsable and invting to do so every now and then, the less appealing it seems to be getting.
Especially in bigger cities the conditions on when you are able to check in and check out are getting more stupid. Check in only possible between 15.00 and 17.00 and anything later means you have to pay some kind of fine because you were 'too late for check in'... Say what and excuse me??
And what about places where you are kicked out in the morning at 10 am already. Im sorry, but often the reason for getting a hotel is otherwise reaching home too late, then a 10 am check out feels a bit painful.
Now recently when I was looking for a place to hang around before my nightflight I got a bit discouraged because it seemed like that would turn out into some form on hanging somewhere in a lobby or at the airport all day.
This snap is not from this specific hotel I visited...it was a cool hotelroom though!
Then I found this 24 hour service hotel. Now I realise this sounds a bit like a dodgy concept and you expect hookers and everything in there. The actual deal was exactly the opposite of what you thought.
See your booking starts when you check in and let's you stay 24 hours after your check in. So if you check in at 14.00, that means you are allowed to stay to 14.00 the day afterwards. No bullshit, no throwing you out early.
And this get's even more extreme. I had a late ride coming into the city and that meant a check in at 22.00. That also meant that I was allowed to stay until 22.00 the day afterwards, which was absolutely perfect for still having a place to keep my stuff and shower before a nightflight.
This is how it should be!! That is proper value for what you are actually booking and it feels a lot more fair when you book 'a night' somewhere, that you actually get a full 24 hours.
So this is not a post for an advertisement of this specific hotel called 'Wink' or anything, but this is about how happy it made me that there were also hotels that are not a total ripp off.
I'm a tremendous fan of the concept. Do you also know something like this?
