The days are rainy in the city of Bogota. I particularly like days like this and although it makes me a bit nostalgic, because they make me miss my hometown, which is quite rainy, I allow myself to enjoy as much as I can while I listen to the rain hitting the roof. I settle as best I can in my armchair, by the way, it is very worn out and the seat makes me quite tired. However, the cold evening, a coffee and a big ball of yarn are the perfect trio to overshadow the little couch issue.

Los días son lluviosos en la ciudad de Bogotá. Particularmente me gustan mucho los días así y aunque me pone un poco nostálgica, pues me hacen extrañar mi ciudad natal, que es bastante lluviosa, me permito disfrutar lo más que puedo mientras escucho la lluvia golpear el techo. Me acomodo como puedo en mi sillón, por cierto, está muy gastado y el asiento me cansa bastante. Sin embargo, la fría tarde, un café y un gran ovillo son el trío perfecto para opacar el pequeño asunto del sillón.

By using a yarn of a certain thickness, I was able to make the whole body of the bag and the flowers in one afternoon. And this morning I made the pendant and put everything else together. Por el hecho de utilizar una lana de cierto grosor, avancé bastante rápido, en una tarde pude realizar todo el cuerpo del bolso y las flores. Y en la mañana de hoy realice el colgante y armé todo lo demás. Fue rápido, sencillo y con un hermoso resultado, qué más se puede pedir. Ahora les comparto los detalles.

The body of the bag is two discs of the same size. I started with twelve high stitches over a magic ring and then increasing 14 stitches in each round, each of them made with medium high stitches.

El cuerpo del bolso son dos discos del mismo tamaño. Comencé con doce puntos altos sobre un anillo mágico y luego en aumentando 14 puntos en cada vuelta, cada una de ellas realizadas con puntos medios altos.

Once the two pieces were finished, we joined them together and made a fan border. These I made with a slip stitch, we left one stitch unknitted and then in the same stitch, we knit five double crochet stitches; we left one stitch unknitted and knit the slip stitch. We repeat all around the edge making sure to pass the crochet hook through the stitch in both pieces, so everything will be very well sewn.

Una vez terminadas las dos piezas, las juntamos y realizamos un borde de abanicos. Estos los hice con un punto deslizado, dejamos un punto sin tejer y luego en un mismo punto, realizamos cinco puntos altos; dejamos un punto sin tejer y realizamos el punto deslizado. Repetimos por todo el borde asegurándonos de pasar el ganchillo por el punto en ambas piezas, así quedará todo muy bien cosido.

We also weave three leaves and three seven-petal sunflowers to use as decorative appliqués. We glue them with silicone.

A parte tejemos tres hojas y tres girasoles de siete pétalos para usarlo como apliques decorativos. Los pegamos con silicón.

For the cord (without cutting the strand with which we are weaving) we make a chain of approximately 60 centimeters, I chose this length because this bag will probably be for Rafaella. We join the other end and now we knit slipped stitches in the ring that is formed at the back of the chain. So we go from one end to the other knitting from the back and secured at each end.

Para el cordón (sin cortar la hebra con la que venimos tejiendo) realizamos una cadena de aproximadamente 60 centímetros, , yo elegí este largo porque probablemente este bolso será para Rafaella. Unimos al otro extremo y ahora vamos tejiendo puntos deslizados en la argolla que se forma por detrás de la cadena. Así vamos de un extremo a otro tejiendo por detrás y asegurado en cada extremo.
