Happy day. There is a popular saying that expresses that between tastes and colors doctors have not been able to. This is a great truth in my opinion. What for someone may be eccentric and eye-catching in a nice way, for another may be too extravagant and this is what I try to show through this necklace.	Feliz día. Hay un dicho popular que expresa que entre gustos y colores no han podido los doctores. Esta es una gran verdad en mi opinión. Lo que para alguien puede ser excéntrico y llamativo de manera agradable, para otro puede ser demasiado extravagante y esto es lo que intento demostrar a través de este collar.


As I was working on this project, I wondered how much someone other than me might like it. It is a necklace that is not for everyone's taste, as its size, color and design may exceed fashion standards. However, it's a risk I wanted to take and even though it's more than I normally wear, I promised myself to give this necklace a chance and wear it next Sunday to see its acceptance among my acquaintances. I hope to get honest opinions. For now I'll share with you the process of making it and for the next post I'll tell you how I did with this colorful	Mientras estaba trabajando en este proyecto, me preguntaba qué tanto le podría gustar a alguien a parte de mi. As I was working on this project, I wondered how much someone other than me might like it. Mientras estaba trabajando en este proyecto, me preguntaba qué tanto le podría gustar a alguien a parte de mi. Es un collar que no es para todos los gustos, pues su tamaño, color y diseño pueden sobrepasar los estándares de la moda. Sin embargo, es un riesgo que quise tomar y aunque es más de lo que yo normalmente uso, me prometí darle la oportunidad a este collar y usarlo el domingo próximo para ver su aceptación entre mis conocidos. Espero obtener opiniones honestas. Por ahora les comparto el proceso de elaboración y para la siguiente publicación les comento como me fue con este vistoso collar.


Let's see how I made it. First I worked with a chain multiple of 4. We leave seven chain stitches without knitting and in stitch number eight we knit a single crochet. Then every three stitches we knit a single crochet and it will form a kind of chain with links. As I made 28 chain stitches in the base, the result of this first round is 7 links. We close with a slip stitch and pick up three chains to replace the first stitch. Then we knit two double crochet stitches.	Veamos cómo lo realicé. Primero trabajé con una cadena múltiplo de 4. Dejamos siete puntos de cadena sin tejer y en punto número ocho tejemos un punto bajo. Luego cada tres puntos tejemos un punto bajo y se formará una especie de cadena con eslabones. Cómo realicé 28 puntos de cadena en la base, el resultado de esta primera vuelta son 7 eslabones. Cerramos con un punto deslizado y levantamos tres cadenas que reemplazan el primer punto. Luego dos puntos altos.

Veamos cómo lo realicé. Primero trabajé con una cadena múltiplo de 4. Dejamos siete puntos de cadena sin tejer y en punto número ocho tejemos un punto bajo. Luego cada tres puntos tejemos un punto bajo y se formará una especie de cadena con eslabones. Cómo realicé 28 puntos de cadena en la base, el resultado de esta primera vuelta son 7 eslabones. Cerramos con un punto deslizado y levantamos tres cadenas que reemplazan el primer punto. Luego dos puntos altos.


From now on we are going to make three low stitches in each link separated from the next by a chain stitch and in the corners we make two groups of three high stitches, separated by two chain stitches. We will change color in each turn keeping in mind that we must make two groups of three stitches in the corners. Once the rectangle is ready, we reserve it while we work on the hanging strip.	En lo sucesivo vamos a realizar tres puntos bajos en cada eslabón separado del siguiente por un punto de cadena y en las esquinas realizamos dos grupos de tres puntos altos, separados por dos puntos de cadenas. Vamos cambiando de color en cada vuelta teniendo presente que debemos hacer dos grupos de tres puntos en las esquinas. Una vez listo el rectángulo, lo reservamos mientras trabajamos en la tira para colgar.

En lo sucesivo vamos a realizar tres puntos bajos en cada eslabón separado del siguiente por un punto de cadena y en las esquinas realizamos dos grupos de tres puntos altos, separados por dos puntos de cadenas. Vamos cambiando de color en cada vuelta teniendo presente que debemos hacer dos grupos de tres puntos en las esquinas. Una vez listo el rectángulo, lo reservamos mientras trabajamos en la tira para colgar.


We weave a long chain and we weave medium-high stitches in each chain stitch, changing color and leaving a long leftover to be used later as ties. I used an old beaded bracelet to add sparkle. I had already published this bracelet in a previous post, but it lost the parrot beak hook and I haven't replaced it, so I thought it would go well with this style of necklace.	Tejemos una cadena larga y tejemos puntos medio altos en cada punto de cadena, cambiando de color y dejando un sobrante largo para luego utilizar como amarres. Utilicé una vieja pulsera de cuentas para agregar brillo. Está pulsera ya la había publicado en un post anterior, pero perdió el gancho pico de loro y no lo he reemplazado, entonces me pareció que vendría bien con este estilo de collar.

Tejemos una cadena larga y tejemos puntos medio altos en cada punto de cadena, cambiando de color y dejando un sobrante largo para luego utilizar como amarres. Utilicé una vieja pulsera de cuentas para agregar brillo. Está pulsera ya la había publicado en un post anterior, pero perdió el gancho pico de loro y no lo he reemplazado, entonces me pareció que vendría bien con este estilo de collar.


We sew the ends joining the parts to the edges of the granny and leave enough space to insert the strip without tightening it so that it does not deform. You can also add the part of the beads, only to the hanging strip and it looks very nice.	Cosemos los extremos uniendo las partes los bordes del granny y dejamos el espacio suficiente para introducir la tira sin que quede apretada para que no se deforme. También se puede agregar la parte de las cuentas, sólo a la tira de colgar y queda muy bonito.


I hope you like this design. I am looking forward to it because it is something out of the ordinary. Taking this kind of risks takes me out of my comfort zone regarding the accessories I use, but I do it with pleasure, because what's the use of creating something if there is no one who uses it.
