Flowers are one of the most powerful sources of inspiration. Who has not seen a flower, however modest it may seem without arousing great admiration. Their beauty, colors, shapes and in some cases, their aroma, have been par excellence the origin and raw material for renowned artists.

Las flores son una de las fuentes de inspiración más poderosas. Quién no ha visto una flor, por modesta que parezca sin que despierte gran admiración. Su belleza, colores, formas y en algunos casos, su aroma, han sido por excelencia el origen y la materia prima para renombrados artistas.

Today I let myself be carried away by some beautiful white calla lilies that grow in the gardens surrounding my children's school. We always see them on the way and my children never take interest in the flowers on the road, but curiously, Rafaella today noticed them and expressed her admiration for the beautiful calla lilies on the road. I seized the moment and thought I'd get my wits about me to make these elegant crochet earrings.

Hoy me dejé llevar por unas hermosas calas blancas que crecen en los jardines aledaños a la escuela de mis hijos. Siempre los vemos de camino y mis hijos nunca ponen interés en las flores del camino, pero curiosamente, Rafaella hoy se fijó en ellas y expresó su admiración por las bellas calas del camino. Yo aproveché el momento y pensé en ingeniarmelas para realizar estos elegantes aretes a crochet.

The shape is very basic. We only make two circles of 36 stitches. One for each earring. We started with a magic ring of six low stitches. Initially I made a ring with 8 single crochet stitches, but I abandoned the idea because I got lost in the counting, so I knitted in a more automatic way with multiples of 6.

La forma es muy básica. Solo realizamos dos círculos de 36 puntos. Uno para cada arete. Empezamos con un anillo mágico de seis puntos bajos. Inicialmente hice un anillo con 8 puntos bajos, Pero abandoné la idea porque me perdía en el conteo, así que en forma más automática teji con múltiplos de 6.

We go forward to row 5 where we complete the 36 stitches. Let's keep in mind that we do not contact the first row. Or as you prefer, we would simply say that in row 6 we will have all 36 stitches. We knit one more row without increases to get the hem effect on the edge.

Avanzamos hasta la vuelta 5 dónde completamos los 36 puntos. Tengamos en cuenta que la primera vuelta no la contactamos. O como se prefiera, simplemente diríamos que en la vuelta 6 tendremos los 36 puntos. Tejemos una vuelta más sin aumentos para conseguir el efecto de dobladillo en el borde.

Now we form the center of the cove and for this we cut a piece of bijouterie wire or whatever we have and introduce several beads of different sizes and colors. I chose two 4 mm green and gold glass beads. A 1.5 mm. pearl. Two 3 mm murano glass beads and two beads. We pass everything to the wire and roll to adjust the beads.

Ahora formamos el centro de la cala y para ello cortamos un trozo de alambre de bisutería o el que dispongamos e introducimos varias cuentas de diferentes tamaños y colores. Yo elegí dos cuentas de vidrio verdes y doradas de 4 mm. Una perla de 1,5 mm. Dos cristales de murano de 3 mm y dos mostacillas. Pasamos todo al alambre y enrollamos para ajustar las cuentas.

We place the beads in the center of the crochet circle and we roll it giving the characteristic shape of the cove. With needle and thread we sew to fix the shape. And with the excess wire we form a ring at the base of the cove. This ring will be used to place one more ring and the hook type hook.

Acomodamos las cuentas en el centro del círculo de crochet y lo enrollamos dando la forma característica de la cala. Con aguja e hilo cosemos para fijar la forma. Y con el sobrante del alambre formamos una argollas en la base de la cala. Está argolla servirá para colocar una argolla más y el gancho tipo anzuelo.

These earrings have an elegant look. The coves themselves are very elegant flowers and I chose to use a faint ivory color to make them. The color of the pearls were also thought to keep the natural shades of the calla lilies. In the center they can have flashes of yellow and some green. Estos aretes tienen un aire elegante. En sí las calas son flores muy elegantes y elegí usar un tenue color marfil para realizarlas.
