Purpose In Every Step
I find joy in my little things ie. Healing hearts, glowing life, one day at a time.
Being a doctor makes me happy. It is not about the title on the door.It is about walking into a room where someone is scared and being the person who says we will figure this out.The long shifts are real. The exhaustion is real. But the moment a patient looks at me and breathes a little easier, everything else falls away.I get to use my brain and my hands to help.I get to learn something new almost every single day. That feeling of accomplishment is addictive in its own way.
Choosing Me First
Loving myself makes me happy.I used to think that was selfish. Now I know it is survival. It means drinking water even when I am busy.It means saying no when my plate is full.It means looking in the mirror and appreciating myself. Some days I am proud. Some days I am just okay. Both are allowed. When I treat myself with kindness,I have more kindness left for everyone else. That is the trade and I am taking it.
**Every Single Life Matters **
Saving lives each day makes me happy.Sometimes saving a life is dramatic and loud. Most times it is quiet. It is catching something early. It is listening long enough for someone to tell the truth. It is holding a newborn like the one in this photo, tiny cute being and knowing I helped bring that moment into the world. But the ones I do get to help, they keep me going. They remind me why I signed up for this.
A Little Retail Therapy
Shopping makes me happy. It is not about buying everything. It is about the hunt.It is about finding that one lip gloss that catches the light, like this O.TWO.O gloss in the picture, and thinking yes, this is me today. It is walking through aisles and letting my brain rest.It is picking colors and textures that make me smile when I see them later.A small bag,a small win.For me,that counts.
Steps And Stories
A walk with my best friend makes me happy. No agenda. No performance. Just shoes on pavement and talking about anything and everything. We laugh about stupid things. We get serious about real things. We do not solve the whole world, but we carry each other through it.The air feels different when we are together and the problems feel smaller. The good things feel bigger. That is my favorite kind of medicine
