Panzer Dragoon Remake is a renewed version of the game from 1995, which was originally intended for Saga Saturn consoles, after 20 years we received a game that can be run on PC and Nintendo (I played the stages on a laptop and this is what my review will focus on) The game is about a young warrior who is tasked with defeating the terrible dragon that threatens humanity.
Our hero flies on a dragon and uses modern technology to defeat enemies.
The game is unchanged in terms of the 2020 versions and from 1995 we get the same game with "improved" graphics.
However, the game was not created by Sege but by the Polish studio "Mega Pixel Studio" and unfortunately it did not turn out as it should.
Graphically, as for 2020, it is very poor, the textures are not so nicely done and sometimes they are even blurry.
The character models also look much worse, as if the studio responsible for it did not want to make it a bit modern (I know it's a remake, but the game could look a little better).
Let me tell you my friends that I haven't played any game in a long time where my fingers were crying with pain.
Controlling the dragon is not very intuitive and the shooter is a high school of pressing a button.
You can regret that the studio creating the remake did not try to slightly improve the attack control.
I understand that it was supposed to reflect the old atmosphere, but most people may just give up at the very beginning, when you literally have no idea how to shoot, and each slight tilt of the analog causes turbulence.
The dragon can be offended in every direction, thanks to which we have an overview of the world around us, but the number of enemies and even zero controllability make it very difficult to pass the stages.
The game itself is short, but the developers came to the conclusion that giving a short game also gives us a sea of tears, because each stage we complete will regenerate our fingers from pressing shots on the pad.
The game is already forgotten by the size of shooting on rails, i.e. our character does not move everywhere, but only has one map fragment designated and must hit the right number of enemies.
It is very similar here, except that the enemies can also attack us from behind and from the side.
I went through this game, I feel satisfaction with a large mix of irritation and nerves, but it is a game where it does not matter how well we train our fingers.
if you haven't played and you like to press the shooting button massively, I recommend it is currently on Google Stadia.
There is another remake currently being made, part 2 which is announced for this year, and it would be great if they tried to make a difference this time around.
