Onward! 😀
All screenshots in this post were taken by me, @kaelci, and are from the game, The Sims 3.
When we left off in the last episode, Melanie Kael, current Kael Legacy Character, married her beloved Wesley, the burglar who she fell in love with while he was ransacking her house. Us, the audience, discovered that he was a gold-digger and wants nothing more than to see Melanie 6ft under. In the meantime - he also wants to host a SNOW DAY PARTAY!
Diving through the Kael Treasury, Wesley takes the paltry sum and decorates however he can, hoping to impress Melanie's hot mother. There were no Christmas trees at the shop, so he settled for a potted plant that looked vaguely triangular.
When Wesley finishes decorating, Melanie has a sob in the kitchen.
"All our money... gone!" she wails to herself. "He'd better steal and sell the Mona Lisa after this!" she hurriedly smacks herself. "Not that I'm condoning his crimes. I'm a police officer dangit!"
She looks around again and another tear escapes.
"The moneeeeey!"
The party soon begins! And we have the typical group dynamics. There's the group playing videogames all night...
...and then there's the Kaels. Both twins and mother drunkenly dancing the night away.
It's Snow Day - Sims Christmas! - and what better food to feast upon than pepperoni pizza? Christopher, Melanie's father, throws his hands up in the air and complains very loudly that he can't pull a chair out from under the table, then drops the pizza in a huff before going upstairs to play pool. Alone.
Melanie's a slob and happily picks up the floor-pizza and devours it. Waste not, want not.
Present opening time! Wesley got a chess table worth $750, which was quickly sold to begin refilling the Kael Treasury. Melanie couldn't open her present because there were too many people in the way and she was too drunk to step around them. Most of the guests received fancy paintings. And best of all, Wesley got to sit beside Alexandria.
"I heard you are a bit of a klepto," he winks. Staring off in the distance in a drunken daze, she doesn't answer... so he tries again, "I'm a burglar, you know?"
"Did you say something, dear?" she smiles. "Getting a bit deaf in my left ear. The years creeping up on me and all that."
"Good to know." Wesley stores the information away for a later date. Perhaps another Kael house will be burgled in the future, he grins. Perhaps another Kael woman, also.
"She truly is wonderful," he sighs to himself. "I must see her again, soon!"
"Can you wear a red wig next time, sweetie?"
Melanie furrows her brow, "Why?
"Oh, no reason," Wesley sighs, then peers out the window at the neighbouring Kael house.
Later that night, the zombies crawl up from the ground and surround the Kael Legacy Home. Most of them stand around and make strangled noises, but this one thought he'd have more of a chance of a meal if he were to be entertaining.
Turns out he made an error and was stuck in this position until the sun rose.
Unable to get Wesley's request out of her mind, Melanie marches over to her family's home and screeches at them through a megaphone loud enough the entirety of Sunset Valley can hear her.
"Keep your cursed red hair away from my Wesley!" she shrieks at ear-piercing decibels.
Christopher stumbles out of the house and invites Melanie inside.
"There's something you need to see," he whispers.
"It happened overnight," Alexandria croaks. "Now there's a dark cloud over my head, raining down upon me every time I look in the mirror. I'm getting old. I'm going to die."
Meanwhile, the triplets fight over who's going to inherit mother dearest's wealth, completely forgetting that their father is still alive, as is their older sister, Melanie's twin, Acacia.
"Uh, hi, errr, I wasn't trying to swipe anything. Nope. Is this your room? Uh..." Wesley swallows. "Wow, you're the prettiest Kael I've ever seen."
Isla, the Kael Menace, stares at Wesley.
"That's nice. Please get out of my room."
"Can I grab your pigtails?"
"Out!"
Back in the Kael Legacy Home, Melanie announces some exciting news.
"Steal a few teddies tonight, sweetie - we're having a baby!"
Melanie runs out the door and tells everyone the good news!
"Do you have any teddy bears hiding at home?" she asks Christopher. "The new baby needs lots of teddies. TEDDIES!"
Wesley swigs some whiskey and ponders. It is almost time. He will fulfil his duty of creating an Heir for the Kael Legacy he married into, and then his wife will die. But, how? He must perform this act with the greatest perfection. No one will know of his crime.
Wesley and Melanie call the Builders to expand the Kael Legacy home. Unfortunately they did a terrible job, mostly because they were underpaid.
"We'll never hire you again!" Melanie shrieks. "I'm going to have you all arrested! How dare you put a mushroom roof on my house!"
Melanie releases her anger with four hours worth of chin-ups and then, exhausted, stumbles up to bed...
...when labour begins.
"What? Already!?" Melanie cries. "Wesley! Take me to the hospital!"
There is no answer. Wesley is at work. Well, if you consider burglary to be 'work.'
Taking control of her own destiny, Melanie drives herself to the hospital, despite the sharp pains shooting through her back, and gives birth, with no partner by her side, to a healthy baby boy.
"Caelin Kael! A fine name for a fine boy!" she beams.
Caelin shall be a Brave Slob, so sayeth the random trait generator. Fitting since both of his parents are slobs, and Wesley is actually a Coward. Perhaps Caelin will be a firefighter when he grows up!
Wesley comes home from work to find the new addition to the family!
"Awww, you look just like me!" he smiles. "It's just going to be you and me soon, kid. But first, let's get you out of these girlie clothes."
Nothing interesting happens over the next few days, but soon young Caelin morphs into a cute, little toddler.
"He has his father's eyes. His father's coloured hair. But at least he doesn't have his father's old pompadour," Melanie muses. "He'll make a fine Heir, I'm sure."
Leaving Caelin in her husband's capable hands, Melanie goes to her first party in a long time! She hasn't been invited out in so long. Well, no, that's a lie. She's been invited to plenty but she keeps knocking them back.
For the first time in a long time, she actually deigns to accept an invitation! And soon finds herself face-to-face with the most creepiest of Supernatural beings... a vampire. He shoves flowers in her face despite the fact she is married, and she quickly backs away, hands held infront of her chest as though to protect herself from his germs.
"No. No, thank you," she forces a smile.
She soon finds a cat and decides that the feline is far better company than anyone at the party. She even tells the creature her horrible secret, that she was once a werewolf before her father wasted his younger years curing her.
The cat smiles and thinks about how much it likes to desecrate plants, and wonders why there is a human barring its way to the next one?
Meanwhile, Caelin is asleep and Wesley is using cat videos in an attempt to seduce another of the red-haired triplets.
The dedicated parents make sure Caelin is well-educated, well-read, toilet-trained, and can play with xylophones and blocks, and then! Before they know it! He is ready to morph into a little boy.
While Wesley cheers, throws flags around and blows party horns, he mentally prepares Melanie's Demise. Perhaps the kid could help. He mentally rubs his hands together gleefully.
Sims-God-Kaelci randomises Caelin's traits... and we get Night Owl!
Melanie groans, "Great, we're going to have to force him to get up in the morning for school."
Wesley grins, "A perfect trait for a mini-burglar!"
Melanie punches Wesley's arm, "No, Wesley!"
While Melanie and Wesley argue about Caelin's future, he wanders upstairs and changes into some new clothes as well as chops off his unfortunate hair.
Appearing a suitable Heir for the wonderful Kaels, and unaware of the argument downstairs, Caelin thinks to himself, "I might go fishing!"
Unfortunately, the ponds are still frozen over. So, Caelin plays on the playground instead. Searching far and wide, the sun sinks lower and lower, and no-one comes to play with him.
"I must be the only child in town," he whispers sullenly.
Sims-God-Kaelci promptly enters Town Edit Mode and creates a bunch of new families to populate Sunset Valley.
Melanie has returned to work after her prolonged maternity leave and Wesley begins Operation: Murder Melanie.
Replacing the unbreakable dish-washer with a simple cheap-o sink, he hopes it will break near-instantly and leave a giant puddle of water on the floor in which Melanie can repair his laptop in.
It's been days and the sink still hasn't broken! Wesley convinces Caelin to put an explosive device on the sink in order to hasten his murderious ambition.
An unsuspecting Melanie goes to wash some dishes when the faucet flings off into the distance and a water spout bursts into her face.
"Damnit!" she cries. "Has someone let Isla in here? This is like my teenage-years all over again!"
"Honey," Wesley wheedles. "Could you try and fix the laptop, sweetie? I need it for... work."
"Work?" Melanie sniffs. "You're a burglar! And I'm saturated! I need a shower."
"They're training me to... uh... be a hacker. Burglarising bank accounts. And stuff. Need my own laptop," Wesley improvises. "I leave in an hour. Please, honey."
Dripping all over the floor, Melanie sighs. "Fine."
Melanie repairs the laptop with no incident, despite the fact she's never repaired anything in her life, and goes upstairs to have a shower.
Wesley takes Caelin in his arms and tells him that he was a good boy and did a good job. Inwardly, he tries to work out another way of killing his wife without being forced to lock her in a doorless room, or take the ladder out of the pool while she is swimming.
With any luck, a meteor will fall on her head. As if that would ever happen. He releases a heavy sigh and wanders back to the bar to think and drink.
It turns out murdering Melanie is harder than he thought it would be.
Until next time! 😀
