The world of Crypto is full of scammers. Now I won't go into all the ways to find out if it is a scam or not, But please do your own research when it comes to crypto!
There are so many ways that these scammers are wiping accounts clean. Here are a few things to look out for.
In the crypto world, The saying " If it seems to good to be true, It probably is" is very true! Well should all know that.
With that being said, I am going to list a few that most people would over look and not think twice about.
One is NEVER go on to google or any search engine and look up anything to do with ICO's or crypto related.
Why? The first thing to come up on the results page is 99% of the time will be an ad. Most people would click on the first thing they see, and will not look at the url to see if it's the real deal or even secure.
Now when it comes to the website of a company, Things to take in, Look to make sure the website is secure, The below picture shows:
Another thing that most people over look is the spelling, bitcoin.com would be correct but sometimes the ads that display on search engines would have a url to something like: bitcoiin.com, Now at first glance you wouldn't look twice at something like that. When it comes down to it, people tend to read the headline or description of the ad rather than the url to see if it would be something legit. That's the same thing with emails, If you are in a crypto platform and you get an email asking for api keys or to deposit to this address cause they having problems or something a long those lines. Make sure to read the email address 4 times. Ask out to the community asking if anyone else in that platform has the same email. Do the research before you take action. Normally they would't send out a email asking for that stuff anyway, but they would message inside the platform. Make sure to follow them on all their social media platforms as well.
It's a pain in the butt, but that's just the way it is and only you can protect yourself from losing everything. You do not want the headache after sending coins to a platform that didn't even exist.
People are even going as far as this:

Another to check is that they have social media platforms that have a good following!
One more thing to know before I stop rambling. When you are buying anything, I mean anything to store your crypto on Make sure you are buying the product right from the manufacturer. Especially when you are buying on Amazon or Ebay. Even when you click on someone's affiliate link, make sure it's right from the manufacturer. The person promoting may not know any better but now you do!
Some of the no name stuff have malware embedded on them and some how able to clean the crypto you are storing off into their wallets.
When it comes to protecting and storing your crypto's, It has to be taken seriously. Take all proper steps, ( I know it's a pain ) but in the long term you will thank yourself!!
Anyways, the more people that know about the scams and how to protect their crypto's all the better.
Please resteem this and share this all around
