It's 5:30 PM. As I set out to trek across the blank, desolate terrain, I strangely feel a sense of warmth and radiance. However, the feeling is finitely more potent than sprawling out in front of the fire after a testing day. It is a feeling that can only be compared to sitting in the shade on a dry summer's day, fueled by the robust energy of that glorious star we refer to as 'the Sun.' I walk on, temperatures slowly dropping further past freezing. The creatures of the wilderness always put a smile on my face, but today are nowhere to be found, much like my fellow humans. Then, as the Sun dipped below the smog, it dawned on me. Maybe I was just a little, lonely being in an expansive environment. But that was exactly it. I was that sign of warmth and radiance in the middle of virtually nothing.
