Hello Anime Fans! 3rd month of the year is almost over and I hope everything has been daijoubu. That's a quarter of the year done and it flew by quickly.

Anyways, Here's the artwork I made for the month of March. She's Riyo Reaper from Gachiakuta Anime. I read and heard a lot of good feedback about the manga on the X/YT site and even though I haven't read it, I was excited that it was adapted into anime. I finished watching it recently and for me, it is a good anime but what captures my interest was the dystopian setting or the world building in general. And I looove the art style, it reminds me of Soul Eater (Edit: I just heard that the Author is a fan of Soul Eater that's why it has the same vibe). The characters are cool and sometimes they are so hilarious. Among all of the characters, she surprised me the most because of an unexpected move she did in the anime and I also like her vital instrument (her scissor) and that's why I decided to draw her.

PROCESS

Here's the rough sketch. I was more focused on the character pose here and not much on the clothing.

I started painting the base colors and just like my previous artwork, I was using only layer here to practice the painting style.

After painting the base, I proceed to paint the general areas of the shadows and highlights on the character.

I started painting the clothes and skin, adding more details and refining the shadow and highlights. I also adjusted the color of the jacket.

I painted and added the accessories on the character.

Here, I painted the eyes and the details on her hair.

After that, I wasn't satisfied on the overall look, so I refined the hair by painting more strands and adjusted the whole head by moving it a little bit below because the neck was too long.
