Wow! Talk about crowded! This is a rose garden that comes into its own in Spring and Autumn. This place is a little out of town, so there are masses of cars blocking up the car parks, but when you actually get into the place, its not as crowded.
There's a park here with a miniature railway, a sports center and gym and the rose garden.
The rose garden is really nice, its only 300 yen to get in also. Today there was a bloke doing trick football stuff near the entrance with loud J-pop music, which was a bit jarring with the rest of the garden.
There are many varieties of roses, I'm very ignorant of them though. They are from all over the world, mainly from the UK. There's a lovely smell pervading the park and the people there look happy and relaxed.
If you like rose gardens, I definitely recommend this place. You can get to it by car quite easily, or from Shimada station taking the bus.
Here are some pictures of the rose park and the miniature Shinkansen, which sometimes runs in the park opposite the rose garden. Location information ● Shimada City Rose Hill Park, 1652-1 Noda, Shimada, Shizuoka, Japan
