Hello HIVE friends, wherever you are, I hope you are all healthy and happy so you can go about your daily activities as usual. I hope you all have a pleasant day.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Sabang City, there is a place that offers tranquility and beauty in one frame: Sabang City Park. Located right in the heart of the city, this public open space not only offers a cool and beautiful atmosphere but also a panoramic view of the city from above, which certainly provides and provides an extraordinary sense of serenity.
In this blog, I will share Sabang City Park with this beloved community. While vacationing on Pulau Weh is usually associated with beautiful beaches and the 0 km Monument, in the city center, I also found a place that made me want to linger. It's shady, clean, and offers views directly overlooking the sea and Sabang City.
So, please continue to follow my simple blog to see some pictures of the area, as well as my writings and experiences.
From the Gampong Aceh tourist destination, I continued my adventure and journey to several other tourist destinations on Weh Island, and now my destination was Sabang City Park. As soon as I arrived in the heart of Sabang City, the Sabang City Park landmark immediately greeted me.
At that time, I saw the large white and red lettering on a foundation beside the highway, the words Sabang City Park written on it. Behind it were large, shady trees. The light filtered through the gaps in the leaves, creating a cool atmosphere. This place is also a favorite gathering spot for locals, especially in the afternoon and evening. However, I traveled here during the day. Nevertheless, I could still feel the serenity provided. Although located in the city center, in my personal experience at that time, this park was a bit far from the crowds.
This park is situated in a mild hilly area, making it an ideal location to view the Sabang City landscape from a different perspective. From here, visitors can witness the expanse of residential houses, the activity at the port, and the traffic on the main road, all the way to the coastline that merges with the horizon.
I believe some of the reasons visitors visit the city park include the greenery and shade of the many large trees found in the area, which made me choose this park as a daytime retreat. Furthermore, its strategic location, in the city center, makes it an ideal place to relax, thanks to its benches, open spaces, and serene atmosphere.
Then, as I began exploring the Sabang City Park area, I was captivated and stopped at the Sabang Merauke Monument, which is also part of the Sabang City Park.
My friend...
The Sabang Merauke Monument is not just a place to relax, but in my opinion, it is a contemplative space, a place where people can enjoy time, reflect, or simply calm down from their busy lives. As I did that time, every visitor can find their own quiet space accompanied by a gentle breeze, the sunset, and stories about Indonesia from its westernmost point.
As I mentioned above, the best time to visit this park is in the afternoon. As evening approaches, the park transforms into a warm and romantic setting, and many locals come to enjoy the sunset from above, as the fading sun casts a golden hue over the city landscape. From this area, we can also see small ships passing by in the distance, and city traffic seems to move slowly, as if time slows down under the orange glow.
This area is truly my favorite. There, I found an iron bridge and stairs leading to a viewing area. From here, I was able to see the open sea, hills, and city all at once. I found the atmosphere especially romantic in the afternoon, with the orange sky and the sound of the waves crashing in the distance.
My friend...
I was truly captivated by the view from this angle. I think if you ever vacation and visit Pulau Weh, don't miss stopping and enjoying the atmosphere in the Sabang City Park area, specifically at the Sabang Monument in Merauke.
In my opinion, this park is one of the best parks on Weh Island. Furthermore, Sabang City Park has its own unique strengths, thanks to its strategic location, easy access, and most importantly, its open views that are hard to find elsewhere. From here, I can personally witness the pulse of city life and the blue sea merging in the distance. The beauty of Sabang City Park is beyond words. I hope the images I've shared above will give you a glimpse of the views we'll encounter when visiting the park.
