Hello everyone in the hive book club. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Welcome to my blog.

I grew up with book lovers. We slept in the same house, ate the same food, and did everything together. The biggest book fan in my family is my mom. I remember how she used to brag about how big of a book fan she is. She always brags about James Hadley Chase. In her opinion, he is the best writer in history (I don't agree with this). My whole family, except my dad, are book lovers. We derive pleasure from reading books. My sister is obsessed with it. She reads every time, literally. Even when she's eating.

Growing up, I had no reason to visit public libraries. Well, I do visit public libraries sometimes when I feel like it. Most of the time I just don't. Why? Because I had no reason to. I have a very big library at home- the family library. My mom loaded the library with different and interesting books. I love reading books at the library, not only because the libraries are always quiet, but because there is just this different feeling when you read at the library. Everything changed when I got into the university. Not only did I not read novels in the library, but I also stopped reading books. Well, aside from my school book. I only limited myself to reading school books. I didn't visit my school library for more than 1 year. I picked things back up this year when I made my new year's resolution. I promised myself to read lots of books this year and I must say, it has been going well.

Unlike my parent's house, there isn't a library or even a bookshelf in my apartment. I usually put my books on my reading table. Sometimes it becomes uncomfortable to read or even write on the table. Then I'd have to scatter my books on the ground to create space. I like it when things are different. I mean, how do you feel when you see your book well arranged on a bookshelf? You feel good, right? I wanted to do something about it as soon as possible, but I didn't have enough resources to put things in other places. I wanted to buy a bookshelf/a mini library so as to put things in others and make reading comfortable for me. But I was just too lazy to do the right thing.

I totally forgot about the book shelf until a few days ago when I remembered it. I wanted to get myself a nice wardrobe. An idea popped into my head. "Why not tell the carpenter to build a mini book shelf with the wardrobe?" Quite a nice idea, right? At first, I thought it wouldn't be possible, but the carpenter proved to me that you can get things done if you have the resources. He brought the wardrobe (with the mini bookshelf built together with it) yesterday and I was just so happy that I made that decision.

He brought it yesterday night and I started arranging my books neatly inside it immediately. Now there's something I need to do: buy more books. I don't like the way the shelf is empty..the funny thing is: I used to have so many books, they just magically disappear everytime I try to arrange them. Most of my novels are with my friends. They borrowed them and forgot to return.

I know this is not so big and fancy, but it really is a big leap for me.

Thanks for reading.
