Hi Hive Lovers
The title of this post is one of the serious chat topics that we often talk about, especially when we haven't had coffee together in a long time. We used to tease each other that if you don't drink coffee, "you're going to be in trouble."
For those who are coffee addicts, stopping drinking coffee is taboo and will be a big problem for several reasons. There were different experiences between us, and in general, we went through pretty much the same thing.
Several people have reported that when they stopped for coffee, they, broadly speaking, experienced difficulty focusing, mood swings, and a loss of vigor and energy.
1. Decreased focus and concentration
It is common knowledge that caffeine can stimulate the nervous system, which works to increase focus and concentration in coffee addicts.
When someone stops drinking coffee, they lose the stimulant that increases their focus and concentration. Many coffee drinkers complain that they find it difficult to concentrate on their tasks, and that can only be fixed if they have another sip of their coffee.
2. Mood swings
It is also common knowledge that the caffeine contained in coffee can affect the level of the hormone cortisol in the body.
The hormone cortisol is believed to be the hormone that regulates a person's mood, and those who have stopped drinking coffee have felt the direct effects of a reduction in this hormone.
One of the effects of reducing the hormone cortisol is experiencing an unpleasant feeling, a kind of loss of calm and relaxation. The same feeling experienced by those whose bodies can't handle the excessive amount of caffeine in their bodies as in the case of someone who drinks their coffee for the first time is excessive anxiety.
3. Loss of enthusiasm and energy
It has also become common knowledge that caffeine is a stimulant that increases adrenaline in the body.
Those who stop consuming coffee will miss the adrenaline-boosting stimulant, which causes a person to be in a more alert and excited state.
Coffee has provided a stimulus to the brain that stimulates a coffee addict to feel an increase in energy in carrying out their various activities. The increase in energy due to the working of the adrenaline system will not occur if they lose the caffeine content in their body.
So, that is why someone who is used to enjoying coffee will find it difficult to stop consuming it. They will not be able to completely get away from their coffee.
One thing that can be done is simply to reduce the duration of drinking coffee or reduce the amount of coffee they drink slowly and periodically. Don't immediately stop drinking coffee completely.
If you yourself or any of your friends have experienced completely stopping drinking coffee, then share that experience here.
