Yesterday was International Coffee Day. I didn’t know this date even existed, despite being a hopeless addict to its flavor and aroma. I suppose every day of the year celebrates something different, but for me, every single day could be Coffee Day.

Well, yesterday I had to work, but I didn’t take my usual route. Instead, I changed my path in search of new views, especially because I left earlier than ever. I had all the time in the world.

It was worth experimenting, because I stumbled upon a new spot to enjoy a good coffee. I now have several places in La Habana Vieja I can count on whenever the craving hits—which is almost always.

The place is called Karibuni Café. I don’t know what that name means, but what really matters is how cozy and peaceful the place is. Besides coffee, they also sell other options, making it a great spot to go with friends sometime, not to mention it’s affordable and good quality.

I had plenty of time, but I couldn’t overdo it, since lately time just flies and before you know it, you’re late. So I ordered a café bombón to go and continued on my way to work. The bombón was delicious, with just the balance I like, so I regretted not ordering two—or maybe they could even serve a double in one cup. I don’t know, I’ll have to ask.

Even though it was a short stay, I liked the place so much that I was tempted to ask if they had job openings. Hopefully no one at El Lucero finds out about this 😂.

Of course, I promised myself I’d go back soon, to sit down calmly and enjoy it more objectively. Once I do, you’ll be the first to know how it went. See you soon
