Hello Needlers,
One of the admin in our local crochet club made a beanie and wrote the pattern. She planned to sell the pattern. So, she posted that she needed pattern testers. I applied and very thankful she included me to the team of testers. In my 50 yrs of crocheting this is my first time to test a pattern. Grateful I have the available materials needed for the project 4ply yarn and 5mm crochet hook.
Here's my output with her pattern. The colorway of my yarn is dull blue so, I added one line at the edging and row 21 the darker blue.
Here is the original with her pattern.
I was having a hard time finishing this beanie because I did not read throughly the stitches to be used. This is my first attempt.
I frogged all of it because I noticed my heart was flat not like the authors pictures the hearts were in bulky form. When I made the 2nd attempt and focus I realized I made dcfl double crochet in front loops only instead the pattern calls for fpdc front post double crochet. I continued, whoa, when I counted my stitches was 99 all around instead of 88stitches. Frogged Again!
Exhausting!!!
3rd attempt. This time I draw my own diagram and focus, focus on counting the stitches in every round .
Perfect! I formed the firsr set of hearts correctly.
Continuing, oh..oh...I was lost again, frogged row 17 down to row 12.
I made again the diagram from row 11 to 19. This time I crocheted it with focus, and with turtle phase, slowly but surely!
DYARAN!!!
I was so happy when I perfected the beanie up to the last row.
Fits my head well, very comfortable to wear. About the pattern, it is a challenging pattern that needs no destraction when you make it.
Hope you like the Love You More Beanie I made
