black and white dashing through the yard
running, jumping, only five months old
your owner sold you to my brother
telling us that you liked to chase the cattle
and drag along while holding onto their tails

When we brought you home
we noticed that you were a very quick learner
my brother spent the time to teach you tricks
and you learned them faster than any other dog we used to have

you were such a fast learner that
when we caught you chasing cars
my brother just told you three times to stop
and you never did that anymore

when you died everyone was sad
i remember the day i took out the needles
from a porcupine out of your nose
it hurt you so much but you would come back to get more pulled out

it's to bad we couldn't bury you
you left one day and never returned
but we all knew you were the best dog we ever had
