Self-voting is one of those taboo subjects. If some people didn't self-vote they would get practically no rewards, so I can't really fault them. When I first started they were a big percentage of my overall votes. Now that I feel my stake is more substantial, mostly through buying steem, I feel like I can start to scale that back. So for a while I was sitting at 99%, and now I'm dropping it to 98%, and will continue to do so until I wean myself completely off the practice.
So if you've been sucking on the self-vote teat too, maybe it's time to start scaling back. Incremental progress is better than none right, so why not drop it a percent or two? Maybe I should just stop cold turkey after the hard fork! Your thoughts?
