El pesebre, belén o nacimiento, es decir, esa representación con figuras y otros accesorios de la natividad del niño Jesús, es un objeto muy hermoso y querido que constituye una costumbre en nuestros pueblos occidentales, en especial en los hispanoamericanos. Su origen se remonta al año 1223 cuando San Francisco de Asís, en Italia, hiciera el primer nacimiento viviente.
Yo acogí la tradición, pues pertenezco a una familia muy católica, y en varias oportunidades monté el nacimiento en mi casa. Muchos años después sólo han permanecido en mi residencia "pesebres" condensados, de confección comercial, o de elaboración artesanal, que dispongo en los espacios propios. Aquí les muestro unas pocas fotos que les hice.

The nativity scene, that is, that representation with figures and other accessories of the nativity of the baby Jesus, is a very beautiful and beloved object that is a custom in our Western peoples, especially in Latin America. Its origin dates back to the year 1223 when St. Francis of Assisi, in Italy, made the first living nativity.
I embraced the tradition, since I belong to a very Catholic family, and on several occasions I set up the nativity scene in my house. Many years later, only condensed "nativity scenes" have remained in my residence, either commercially made or handcrafted, which I have in my own spaces. Here are a few photos I took of them.
