Hello, today I want to share this diy. The idea came to me when I was cleaning and while I was organizing some of my candles I removed the excess wax, as there was quite a lot I thought it would be a waste. I'm actually reusing what I already had.
I decided to use a glass as a candle holder but it looked very simple so I painted it with acrylic paints.
Hola hoy quiero compartir esta manualidad. La idea surgió cuando me encontraba limpiando y mientras ordenaba algunas de mis velas retiré el exceso de cera, como era bastante pensé que sería un desperdicio. En realidad estoy reutilizando lo que ya tenía.
Decidí utilizar un vaso como portavelas pero se veía muy simple así que lo pinté con pinturas acrílicas.
I decided to make some flowers, and in the end I put a layer of varnish on the glass so that the paint wouldn't come off easily, but you still have to be careful.
Decidí hacer unas flores, al final le puse una capa de barniz al vaso para que no fuera a desprenderse la pintura con facilidad, pero aún así hay que tener cuidado.
Then I decided to make a coaster so the candle would look better. To do this I used a piece of cardboard as a base, cut it into a circle and with the help of a glue gun I wound this thread (I don't know what it's called) that I had been saving for a long time.
Luego decidí hacer un portavasos para que la vela luciera mejor. Para ello utilicé un pedazo de cartón como base, lo corté en círculo y con ayuda de una pistola de silicón fui enrollando este hilo (no sé cómo se llama) que lo tenía desde hace mucho tiempo guardado.
When everything was dry, I continued with the wax. With the pieces of wax I had, I thought of melting it in a double boiler.
Cuando ya todo secó continúe con la cera. Con los trozos de cera que tenía se me ocurrió derretirloa a baño María.
Before adding the melted wax, I reused these little things that the candle has to better hold the wick. As it is, the wick is in the center, held by some object in the glass that it managed to keep in place. I poured the wax, a little spilled but everything turned out fine.
Antes de colocar la cera derretida reutilicé estás pequeñas cosas que trae la vela para sostener mejor la mecha, como esa es la mecha va en el centro sostenida de algún objeto en el vaso que logré mantenerla en su posición. Vertí la cera, se me derramó un poco pero todo salió bien.
Now we just have to wait for our candle to take its shape when it is completely cold.
Ahora solo queda esperar que nuestra vela tome su forma al estar completamente fría.
