What Have You Learned from Being on Hive?

Someone voted on one of my posts several times before. The fact that they voted a few times indicated that they had read my posts and were not a bot or a random curating account, so I decided to be intentional and find out who they were after procrastinating for a long time.

While checking, I decided to read some of their posts, and I discovered that they have some excellent posts. So I decided to click "follow" only to discover that I was already following them. I began to wonder why I had already followed them but never interacted with them.

However, they had some lengthy but informative and interesting posts. Their command of English was astounding; they wrote like pros and were able to captivate audiences. Many people do not have a long attention span, unless they come across something interesting.

Attention Span

However, only a few people have the ability to keep a reader's attention while writing a 1500 to 2000-word post. I can not do it; sometimes I try, but it is clear from the type of comment you get that someone did not read the post and simply commented.

This person's posts were not like that; I was entertained, thrilled, and informed after reading one of them. The other readers were clearly entertained, as was I, and I discovered that a good command of the English language can be a flex.

I know because I once attended a village high school where I was the only student with a good command of the English language, and I felt like a king among them.

This was not the case at first because I was born in a small town where most people never spoke English, and I probably did not start speaking until I was about six or seven years old, so going from not being able to speak at all to having an average command of the language only demonstrated one thing: the ability to learn.

The Ridiculous Need For Knowledge

This post is about the need to learn, not the English language. There are some posts on Hive that I read and immediately realize I have learned something. I also see entertainment as comical knowledge gained in an amusing manner.

I have learned a lot on Hive, and I have done so by following some of the chain's best creators.

From 2017 to 2021, we primarily focused on the rat race of earning upvotes, looking for the next big and benevolent whale to become a next of kin to. However, I realized that if I had chosen to learn more, I could have avoided many of the costly mistakes I made in the past.

Let me explain using an analogy.

If you give a four-year-old child five to ten one-dollar currency notes and only one hundred dollar note. They are likely to go for quantity. This is because, in the child's mind, "more" means value, not realizing that "less" can be voluminous than "more."

It is like eating at night and skipping breakfast and lunch, only to develop a health complication as a result of trying to save money on food. When you have knowledge, resources can bend to your will. You can accomplish the impossible with the right knowledge.

Let us be factual There are many people who lack knowledge; you can hear them shouting their ideas and sentiments, and many people are likely to follow them because they have a large audience.

For example, it can be difficult to follow the advice of someone with little or no influence. We believe that if they had more knowledge, they could have led or influenced a large group of people.

However, you must properly curate the sources of knowledge you use to avoid being misled. There are loud and sensible voices everywhere, including on Hive. Choosing knowledge over everything may seem illogical at times, but it is the best option.

Knowledge is the best shortcut life can offer.

There are experienced business-minded people on Hive, as well as experienced crypto creators, and to be honest, these guys influence some of my real-life decisions. Now, I may be mistaken in my convictions, but as we gain more knowledge, the previous ones become increasingly redundant.

Knowledge is the death of another knowledge, which is why we unlearn and relearn. You cannot relearn what you have not previously learned. It simply means that you cannot store new food in a dirty environment.

X is also an excellent learning platform.

....however, I would not have known if Hive had not provided me with this information. To summarize, extensive knowledge is required in all sectors. For example, the regular Joe's who are excited about crypto don't even know much.

How can you love a woman just by looking at her smile? What if she is terrible in other areas of life? It is impossible not to know who you love. If you are passionate about something and want to benefit from it, devote an unhealthy amount of time to learning everything you can about it, and it will pay off in the end.
