The Leo Project: Affecting Hive In The Most Underestimated Ways.
It's been more than two years now that I made the decision to actually buy into Leo and fast-forward to today, the only regret I have is not buying more. Interestingly, I am an avid investor, sometimes I depend more on my gut or instincts when investing more than I even do my research. With leo, it felt right, but one of the huge obstacles that limited my investment was because I wasn't someone who could put together a decent thought about money, articulate it in a sellable way that could convince or endear another person to read it.
When it comes to crypto, I'm probably a complete noob, but the exposure I've had here has mitigated this. There was this dominance of Crypto analysis when I started out with buying Leo, it felt like crypto was the most popular aspect of finance. This made me invest minimally into buying leo, even when I had the opportunity make that huge purchase that could have put me in a very comfortable position. There was still that basic knowledge of investing what one can afford to lose.
Why Finance Is Tactful
Coupled with the fact, that I didn't just want to become a curator, I wanted to be part of what leo was doing and this was how I started writing personal finance. It's been more than 2 years of writing consistently. I've shared insights and scopes on some of the economic situations that can be prevalent or existing due to some sociocultural phenomenon or factors. My point here is that I didn't know I could write or pen this aspect of finance without having to be limited to writing just crypto.
If you take a look, you'll see that almost everyone wants to be involved with leo and the massive community it boasts of, contrary to when people were skeptical as to why a tribe or a project would majorly focus on finance and finance related projects alone. The advantage here is that niche-based projects have a direction. So because they're not trying to be good at everything, they're focused at being good at something; finance.
The Leo Project: Ontop Of The Food Chain?
Take a look at the business or money end to hive, the Leo project is like the forerunner of hive. This is because you cannot read an article (through Google searched keywords) about let's say "Ethereum killer", if you're clicking on a hive-based article through these search, you're likely going to click on a leo content, which would then bring you to the parent blockchain; Hive. Firstly, let's talk about how money is the predominant discussion in almost all aspect of life.
Finance is entwined in the life of everyone. Take a look at how crypto has become prevalent especially after the lockdown, how it's managed to become a focal point. Most people have taken to writing about how crypto has Influenced their personal finance, and in just two years the contents here has been so evenly diversified, people are writing about NFT, about Facebook and YouTube demonetization, people are writing about their financial decisions, writing about investing into their favorite games and even talking practical economics and politics.
It's like talking about how gaming (splinterlands) has brought traction to hive. In reality, the tokenomics of this blockchain is what everyone needs to understand really well. If you take a look at steem and steemit, you'd see a highly sophisticated blockchain with little or no medium to educate people about crypto in its entirety. When I first came here. The mentality of some users then was to make thefast cashand exit. Nowadays, the blockchain is like an encyclopedia on crypto while acting as their first exposure to blockchain technology.
As a result of this, many are now aiming for longevity. Take a look at Hive, many people are being influenced. FOMO sells more than FUD The average person here, totally understands the basic things about blockchain, people are being committed to building rather than exiting and that is the influence to a dominant project like Leo. It's safe to say many people who play splinterlands, read about it from reading one leo-based post or another.
How Information & Education Revolutionizes Intent
This isn't to undermine the quality, affluence or traction that splinterlands brought to hive. My point is, Leo was like an end that brought secondary marketing to splinterlands, even if the primary marketing was evident in the game's quality. It's safe to say that some people inadvertently learned about Splinterlands, from the flawless analysis of some players with skin in the game. It's all interwoven. The impact has been astonishing. Let's not even begin to talk about how it's influenced the content behavior on the blockchain at large.
The information here is translation, it flows in such a cyclical direction, people learn for example from someone else, they make this information personal, then apply their personal concepts then give off these moneys. This is how many people got into Defi, while the expectations weren't totally met, we've experienced Defi here interacted with other chains as well. So because money will always be in focus, Leo as a project will remain relevant. I've documented a lot of my financial and economic experiences here for over two years now, and I can say I've become a better person in this aspect.
