My friend and I were recently talking about the uncertainty that comes with being a degree holder, the struggles of having a hundred competent people vying for a lucrative job, the nepotistic tendency that might prevent a qualified person from getting the job and the unfair situation that results in 99 other people not getting a job and how they'll cope with unemployment and probably taking time again to start the search for another well meaning job. You see Nigerians are afraid of starting small because their degrees makes them feel like they will immediately slot in a lucrative job in a country where the richest of people are mostly entrepreneurs so built their business empires by having capital looking for the right business to invest in, and growing with time.
So because of this uncertainty, we decided to invest in A-level education for people aiming to go into tertiary institution. My friend is currently in his years 3 of college and me not far behind and we've decided to form a sort of partnership were we both get to invest in A-level education for high school leavers and aspirers of college. Truth is, we have worked for people who themselves owns such institution and while we have earned constant salaries for working for a sizeable number of years, these private owners have expanded over the years while our wages have been constant and only increased by a little margin and this could not even be noticed because cost of living is increasing exponentially.
Nigeria high school leavers are always looking for a place to register for national exams and if you must know, education is one of the most lucrative venture in Nigeria despite the fact that having a degree in itself isn't lucrative as using the degree or monetising the degree. In 2019 alone over 1.4 million Nigeria students registered for Jamb, the entry exam into college and out of this staggering number, over 800,000 will of course seek help from A-level centers to help them with tutorials to pass these exams. In Lagos alone, more then 500,000 students will pay to have these classes and of course these A-level education centers will charge a stipulated amount of fee to help these students and of course this isn't the only means.
Students also writing the school leaving exams called WASSCE also seeks assistant from these centres to pass these exams and my friend and I have of course worked for people who owns A-level education centers and we of course know how much these owners makes. And we have basically done an estimation and then we've decided to establish ours as well. I for one I don't believe in working for anyone because being my own boss and owning my own business is more lucrative. Truth is, I totally really on Crypto to fund this business project of mine. One actually do not have to depend on the volatility of cryptocurrency even if I'm bulging up my Crypto stack for the long run. My aim is to fund this business idea with my Crypto earnings then when the business starts yielding profit I can accumulate Crypto again from my profit.
I want to basically have a functional business before I finish college and this has been majorly my dream for a long time. And I my friend are estimating about a million naira and he'll of course come up with 40% of the money while i'll bring 60% of the money. We're of course hoping to look for a suitable location and of course getting the right people to work for us. The cost of materials might be another thing but then the biggest thing to consider is having the right location and having the right and competent tutors and this Will of course promote the business overtime. We might acrue some bad debts In the first and second year of inception and we might need some external funding to keep the business going. We hope to start making dividends from the third year. This might actually vary but then our estimation wouldn't be totally wrong. I have however started my building project and college starts again in less than two weeks.
