The people who birthed us are our biggest benefactors because they made the simple but intentional choice to create a conscious form of human life; us.
While it's not entirely our choice to be born, if people were actually given the consciousness to choose if they want to be born, I'm sure that many people wouldn't be born, because it'll be easier not to face the reality they'll live in or the circumstances that surround their existence.
As the joy of living or being alive wouldn't be incentivized enough to quell their suffering or the prospect of the challenging lives they'll live and the constant chase for survival.
In an alternate reality, if people were given the ultimate power of choice, then some parents wouldn't be able to birth any children especially if their would-be children can be able to envisage how their lives would be like the; exposure to suffering, illness, poverty, potential deformity, deprivation, hunger, victims of dysfunctionality and many other things.
But because giving birth is a biological process, it's difficult to even pay attention to the divine and psychological process. On the flip side, people might choose to get born because of who their potential parents are, how good of a parent they'll be, their ability to make sacrifices and be the best parents.
Maybe these people will give them good lives, be responsible for making sure they're hale and hearty, provide for their needs and be the best parents to do them.
At some point in time, a lot of us, have wished we are born under different circumstances and the reason this is so is because of how challenging our present situation might be. When I was younger, there were many times I wished I wasn't born, because of the exposure to some of the harshest realities of life.
This is the stage where we blame our parents because we're cross that they made the decision to bring us to life, so they have to do so, exceedingly well too.
But reality is bigger than our expectations.
It's never as smooth as we plan or want it
Life has taught me that, even when people make choices for us, we may get to live to enjoy it or live through the consequences of that choice. As human beings, we're always of the opinion that the best choice for our lives can only be made by us.
This is because we're the ones to live to enjoy or regret it, so we believe that when too much is at stake, people are always very careful because of the consequences that come with being careless.
However, most people who are parents are never intentional, this is why they give birth to people who might never be happy throughout their lives.
For example, a person who is pregnant, but smokes and drinks are endangering the life of their unborn child, but still choosing to do so irrespective of the intended danger it poses to their unborn child, is an act of selfishness and gross irresponsibility.
The child may be born deformed, or have some challenges with their brain that might affect their motor skills, thereby rendering them incapacitated for the rest of their lives.
Intentional parenting, increase the happiness or well-living of a potential child.
This is why I think the choice to bring another human to life should be a sacred responsibility for only those who are truly willing. Sadly, reality isn't functional or orderly by default.
In fact, our reality is naked, unfriendly, harsh, and unpleasant by default, by living and doing the right things are the only way to correct the dysfunctionality of reality.
Because of how different people are born, our lives--our subjectivity forms a different version of reality in our mind. This is why some people go on to love life and some other people do the opposite.
