What's up Weed Nerds! Fells like forever since I have done an update. It has been 43 days since I put the seeds in water. Now I almost have filled up my 4x4 tent again. Which means that my job is getting harder as each day passes. But this is what growing is about. The challenge is what keeps me going. It is never a dull moment. I suppose I could just get a dog, or go make another baby to fell this void. NAH, Ill just plant another seed before I do all that. SSH, don't tell my wife though.
So far I have found 4 males, and 1 female. So that makes a total of 3 females, since I have two clones. Starting from seed is a bitch, but it does have its perks. But in reality I would really recommend to start from Clones, that is if they are available to you. If you plan to have a mother plant, I would recommend you start from seed. That is because a plant that is from seed is stronger then that from a Clone, due to a plant from seed has a tap root.
I am getting rid of the males, except the Big Mack Superstars, since I plan to do some breeding to further the Big Mack line. Since these plants are young, I am reusing the soil. This is one of the reasons starting from seed is such a pain in the ass. So much time, and material is wasted during this process. This is why I started breeding in the first place. Letting a plant go to waste is a shame. However this male that got cut went in the compost bin. At least.
The Big Mack Superstar studs are being place on the balcony. I have put up more canvas to block the view. I do not want the neighbors to know that I have a Ganja Plantation lol.
The La Kush Cakes still have yet to show sex, except 1, which was a male. If your are just tuning in to my Blog, these are Jungle Boys seeds, that was gifted to me from fellow Weedcasher @lacausa. He is in mid flower with his La Kush Cakes. He found a herm early on among his crop, so I am keeping a close eye on mine. Herms happen. Some strains have a high herm rate, and some have low rates. This is just the plants will to survive. Completely normal. It has been a while since I have seen a herm in my garden, but once I had one. It is not fun. If not caught early, it can seed a whole garden. So stay vigilant my friends.
I have began to implement a good IPM regiment. The last couple grows I have had Thrips. They suck, as any pest does. The best pest control is preventive maintenance. So I plan to spray at least once every couple weeks, up until I start to flower.
I just paid 10$ for this sprayer, and then put a Canna sticker to block the Round Up logo. Which btw these exact stickers can be purchased here. Not only will you get some cool ass slaps, a portion of the proceeds will be used to help market Weedcash. Which BTW if you have not heard the news, Weedcash just got the upgrade. Some cool shit!
Well that is it for this update. Next up will be figuring out what plants stay, and which ones go. Which will be either by sex, or just to clear up space. I do not plan to have as many plants as last time. I will fill up the canopy 100%, but this time by SCROG. Whatever plants stay will be transplanted into bigger pots. Another thing that is a pain in the ass with starting with REG seed. If I had clones, I would of transplanted them in their final pots from the start. But oh well, it is what it is. Just got to adapt to the situation, and be on your toes. Curveballs will be thrown, but if you stay on top of what needs to be done, you will be ready.
