I am going to share with you a little chit chat @elianaicgomes and I had in our private chat for our businesses.
(I hope she doesn't mind lol)
Eliana - "I need to get back to studying more on web design.."
Jongo - "I hear you, I have been slacking when it comes to my self education as well..."
We basically decided that we each should make it a priority to 'learn more'. And you see, this is something I believed in so much over the years of building my online businesses.
Being an entrepreneur means, you are kind of responsible for your own education! You may not go to college in the traditional sense, but you go to 'school' almost daily!
Here's some examples...
This was my home office in the house I used to own. Before the 'PayPal fiasco' I was doing pretty good. I had a thriving online business and self development and education was a part of my every day lifestyle.
Heck, I even wrote it on my white board to remind myself....
Read more books!
I was always my happy place....
There was nothing more I would rather do than grab a coffee and sit down with a book and dive into it. I always believed that I was getting mentored by thought leaders in any chosen industry I wished.....For like 20 bucks (the price of a book)!
It changed the way I thought about self education.
If I wanted to learn about leadership...I simply bought a brand new John C. Maxwell book and had him teach me about it!
Sales? No problem, I went to the 'Jeffrey Gitomer School of Sales' any time he released a new book.
Marketing expertise? Easy! Seth Godin was always on my book self, ready to help out.
You see....The habit I have lost since the 'fiasco' was my regular reading time. And I have no excuse really, life happened...Life happens to every one!
So why on earth haven't I dug back into self-educating myself?
I always say I'm going to, especially being on the road all the time now...I can easily grab an audiobook, and listen to podcasts...Do everything I can during my drives to soak up valuable information!
And this is something I am making the commitment to do going forward. So I have a few changes coming to my content here on chain...
Of course, @cryptomaniacspod will be weekly! And the sports show too! I'm enjoying my 'Adventures In Truckjing' video series as well. Plus #myhivegoals is always on the bill!d
But it's time for me to continue to make the greatest investment I have ever made over the years....
Self Education and Personal Development!
And that means, book reviews once again :). And regular posts about everything I'm learning along the way.
And please....Hold me accountable too!!! After this post I'm going shopping for an audiobook to start listening to....
So if you have any recommendations in books about success, marketing, business, sales, tech....Let me know :)
It's time to get back to investing in....Myself!
