She mentioned how Hive has positioned itself in a very unique place in the crypto world. It's something I have believed in tremendously over the years, mostly because I've seen how it changes people after they 'get a taste'....
She stated....Hive is...A gateway crypto!
And not so much to move on to other projects in the crypto world, however I'm sure that happens. It's more of the experience people have when they start understanding what a true web 3 blockchain can be.
How can we see this each day on Hive?
It's particularly true within our community - CTP. A lot of our members have been onboarded from outside the crypto space. They are brand new to everything 'blockchain' related and start hearing about....'Powering up' and 'resource credits' when they go through our training.
They start discovering the apps on Hive and realize that they can do everything they have been doing on traditional social media, right here on Hive. From blogging to playing games, uploading videos to watching live streams....
Their eyes light up :)
Now some people give it a try and give up, that's attrition. Part of every industry across many niches online. But then a chunk of them 'get it'. They start showing up, adding value to the community. They comment, they engage. They create and learn as much as they can about this project and before you know it, they are hooked!
Sound familiar?
In one way or another, I'm pretty sure a large number of everyone reading this post can say the same or have similar experiences. A lot of us have 'heard' of Bitcoin but let's be honest...The use cases for 'popular crypto' is pretty scarce. It's there but nothing compared to what we can do here on Hive.
This becomes the first true blockchain experience people have and empowers them to learn more! I think that's what attracts me so much to Hive as a whole. The community supports each other. Projects, tribes and communities all seem to feed off each other and help grow the entire blockchain each and every day. Yeah we've had history of flag wars and drama, but right now, Hive is in a very good place.
It's welcoming to those that dive in and add value!
You don't need to become a crypto 'maniac' and expert at this stuff, all Hive seems to want is...Your effort!
People learn, they get comfortable and then before you know it....They dive into DeFi! They poke around NFTs. They start playing blockchain based games. And it all seems to get it's kick start on Hive.
Obviously, it's not always the case...But I bet if you ask some crypto degens you may find replies like this:
"I remember Steem, that's where I started to learn about crypto!"
"BitShares, oh yeah I messed around with that!"
"3speak, that's where I uploaded my first video on a blockchain!"
All from the same DNA....This blockchain is where people come to discover crypto and get a taste. It's a gateway crypto if I've ever seen one...
