I have to admit, over the past few days I have found it hard to come up with things to write about...
Mostly because of being on the road so much, over the past month, every time I settle down and get parked, I'm beat!
So tonight I got inspired by what I have been doing during the majority of my days....
Filling my mind, with heavenly things!
You see, I spend the bulk of my day driving...
And instead of listening to useless podcasts, worldly music or random audio books....I'm listening to the #bible
I have some reading goals that I like to achieve each year, and that it to get through reading the bible from Genesis to Revelation. But this year, I've really set the bar high for myself and that is to read through the bible....3 times in one year.
I've already got through it once, and I have two more plans that I'm going through.
One that I'm doing along with members of the Kingdom Bible community here on chain!
And the other is this one that I'm currently going through on my own....
As you can see, I started this on August 22nd and I'm currently 62% the way through...
I'm on the book of Jeremiah now. And the reason I've been able to get through so much of the bible is because I'm spending those hours upon hours of driving....Listening to the audio version of the bible!
This isn't to brag at all, please understand that I wanted to share my bible reading experience because up until about a decade ago...I had never read through Scripture. Like...Ever.
And going off of the advice from Scripture itself....I figured the best way to stay on task and keep my eyes on heaven like Philippians 4:8 states....Is to always fill my mind with Godly things. And what better way than to use that 'dead time' of endless hours behind the wheel, than hearing the Word of God!
I think the message that I want to get across with this post is that we all get 1440 minutes a day....Not a second more. And what we spend that time on, determines our destiny. So instead of the 'world' which uses every device it can to keep you from God, I'm allocating those minutes to reading (or listening) to the bible.
And here's the big point....As someone who just started his journey in the pages of Scripture, you can find the time and dedicate those minutes to reading. It's literally the best investment of time you can spend!
