I am not sure what prompted me to take a look at some old photos this evening....
It's not a habit I do a lot. Usually I remember a photo I took over the years, and go looking for it. But rarely do I take a trip down memory lane. Tonight was different!
Around 2012, I met my wife. And over the next year and a bit, a bunch of the photos I had was focused on her. Hey, I was in love, what can you do?
But then I came across this photo that I'm featuring tonight on my post.
There's a lot to this photo, and you maybe scratching your head to exactly what this may be...
This, was my first ASIC miner. I used it to mine Litecoin way back in 2014...Look at that date too, it's time stamped lol
But what this represents was the birth of my love with the entire concept of cryptocurrency. A little backstory about this miner too, my company at the time purchased this as well as a bunch of bitcoin mining rigs as well. You have to remember, back then, you could actually mine entire coins if you had the proper set up, each and every day.
So back then, my company and I were mining about 1 full Bitcoin a day, and that little ASIC miner of mine was doing about 5 litecoin a day as well. I won't tell you what happened to those coins, but let's just say....Never take investment advice from me lolol
In 2014.....Prices were extremely cheap for the coins and even the mining rigs compared to today. But this is what got me hooked! That glowing green machine that I had plugged into my laundry room in the basement lol
Almost 10 years later, I don't own anymore 'rigs'...Instead I 'mine' my tokens on this incredible blockchain that we are all a part of.
My journey, even though it's almost 10 years into this crypto stuff, still only feels like it's just beginning. And I hope to be here for another 10 years to see this chain explode because it's needed!
The world needs it!
