Hello and good morning all, today I'd like to share a simple piece I created that may have more meaning than originally thought.
First I'll share the process of creating it...then why...
To break the monotony of carving orders, I'll carve something different and this was my most recent. My 5 year old son helped me design it.
With the exception of some minor details, it was ready for the burn..
After burn, and light sanding...
Painted the entire piece black...
Then finished off with some brush on acrylics...simple and easy.
My original plan for that day was to get at a log I needed to dig out of the snow for a project...
But this happened...
After an hour or so of snow removal, I was finally within a couple feet of the log I needed. This is where I decided to carve the home on the hill piece...instead
The deeper meaning in the home on the hill is that this was also a day that we made a decision to follow through with our plans to build a new gallery and home on our land.
