What goes into a typical order...
Here’s a new idea for FREE ART FREES ART Put a free oil pastel drawing in with every order. Can’t believe I didn’t think of it before. The drawing can be of whatever they bought. Maximum hyperinflation. 90 sheets of Acid Free A5 size (21 x 15 cm) 300gsm thick paper’s only £13, and they don’t take very long to draw. Usually less time than it takes to package them in the bubble wrap and cardboard. So all this went into a video advert I made today showing a typical order, how well my shop's parcels are packaged and how much free stuff comes bundled in, even when only ordering a single small painting.
Today’s weekly painting session at Billy’s got cancelled this morning, so I spent the day working on my online shops instead. It was either that or the demos for my new album that I’m already behind schedule for. The demos can wait a couple of days. The shops are starting to pick up a bit, and are where my head's most at right now. There was an order from yesterday to pack and take to the Post Office, which I did one of these free bonus oil pastel drawings for. So they now have two versions of the same composition. One, a painting on canvas, the other a drawing on paper. As does the first person to get this freebie. Someone from outside of Europe who bought two small paintings, meaning the order was for less than it takes to get a free TRANSIT COMPENSATION PACK (£50) and the parcel was too small for me to put one in anyway. I don’t combine shipping so felt they deserved something free that was more substantial than the pamphlets and flyers everyone gets. Even though I don’t combine shipping, I refund the difference if it comes to substantially less than they paid. It rarely does though.
With the oil pastels already out and only eight pages left in the pad, I did another eight so four could go into each of my two online shops tomorrow. It wasn’t long ago that I publicly announced on the BLACK IVORY PODCAST that I was done with oil pastels and didn’t see myself making any more of them. I’ll put today’s eight drawings in the next post.
